My last boyfriend was someone I took home from a party — hot enough for a one night stand and also met my criteria for a relationship.
My boyfriend before that made me wait 8 dates, but with the one before that, I slept with him on the first date.
The only criterion for sex is bare minimum physical attraction. The criteria for a relationship is higher physical attraction, intellectual connection, emotional safety, shared long term goals, etc.
