Hirotaka Saito was about to end his life after his business failed, but his 70kg dog blocked the door and saved him. He later sold his Ferrari and used everything to build Wansfree in Japan, a shelter where abused and aggressive dogs can live freely without cages. It now cares for around 40 dogs and aims to grow to 300 by 2028. This is probably the most powerful comeback story I’ve seen, turning one of the darkest moments of his life into something that now saves others. Hirotaka Saito adopted three shiba on his shelter (wansfree) and no one is giving the recognition he deserves.
