AP Fielding Class: Tagging a Runner at 2nd Base with Nasim Nuñez | @Nationals Nasim is facing the challenge of calls: “Safe” or “Close” as he approaches the bag. 🔍 Understanding the Calls: “Safe”: The runner will be safe, Nasim needs to get the ball “early,” ensuring he has it before following through behind the bag just in case the runner pass it “Close”: High chances to be an out, Nasim takes the risk of letting the ball travel a bit, making a quick tag at the last moment. 🔑 Key Note: As a Shortstop, having the instinct to judge whether the runner will be safe or a chance for an out is crucial. This intuition comes from recognizing the situation and anticipating the runner’s jump. @80scale_ | @80prospect
