In the NBA and NFL the owners get to lift the trophy first. Obviously we don’t have that tradition here, so they carried the trophy to the podium instead. I’m 100% sure this was Arteta’s idea - his attention to detail is legendary. You can’t buy class.

I have many atheists in my family and I really wanted to get down to the brass tacks to help them see their framework is flawed. It really helped me to see they claim 2 things which contradict each other. They say, 1) ‘good and evil are subjective’ and also 2) ‘humanity ought to become more just, loving, or equal.’ What I learned is the moment you use words like ought, better, or progress, you are appealing to a moral standard above human opinion or consensus. This is important for me to be able to articulate— with charity— because people will not adopt a new worldview unless they see the one they have has a problem.

Watched Arteta’s recent interview with Sky Sports and it was revealing. He said he knew we didn’t have the capacity to score 100 (PL) goals or a 35-goal player. So he worked on being the best at what we’re really good at - being defensively solid - and being one of the best at..
