good video that answers: yes they are a better solution for physical media than none at all because other than the initial download you can use it on any Switch 2 no matter what account, and it can be traded or sold or borrowed like regular physical media
Lmaoo do you know how fast SSDs are compared to spinning discs? In order to achieve what you're talking about they would effectively need to ship these games on pre loaded SSDs. Let's say 128 or 265 gigs which would be like a 30 dollar upcharge per unit in a regular market

I won’t spoil all the details…but you’d be amazed at what you can fake with a Raspberry Pi. The Triforce is basically one big gamecube; except the media “storage” is its own separate computer. It exposes a ram disk of game data that pretends to be an optical drive.
