"The game before that one I played really badly, couldn't do anything. So I wanted to bounce back. We had to win that game. But somehow I just knew the ball was coming to me. Before it even came. LeBron actually told me during the game, 'Be ready, the pass is coming.' But it didn't come until the very last moment. While I was waiting, I thought 'It's definitely coming.' "When the Lakers offer came in from Washington, honestly I said I didn't want to go. The Lakers are seen positively in some ways, but negatively in others. The Lakers have probably had the most player turnover in the last 5-6 years. I wanted to go to a stable team, a team where I'd have a clear role and they actually wanted me. So when the Lakers offer came up, I told my agent I didn't think it was the right fit. The Lakers are the riskiest team in the league. They're a rollercoaster. That's exactly what they are, a rollercoaster. So I didn't want to go to that kind of team. But after talking with my agent and others, I decided I wanted to challenge myself."
