Day 1 of @969Sqn Recruit Training weekend at RAF Woodvale. Good to see the latest intake wearing their uniforms for the first time. The day starts with Blue Radio Lessons, taught by Sergeant Hughes. Thank you to @611AirCadets for letting us use their building!

With in our wing there are on average 35 flying places a month over 2 AEFs. Very fortunate to be able to offer such a good experience to all our eligible cadets!

Budget cuts, mismanagement and a succession of commandants shunted off to us so they can't do damage to the actual RAF has largely destroyed our USP. Scouts and ACF get more flying now than us

Last Tuesday 4 of our cadets were lucky enough to get to experience flying a Grob Tutor at RAF Woodvale through 10 Air Experience Flight. Our cadets got to learn the basic controls of the aircraft and take control. We would like to say a massive thank you to 10AEF @OCMerseyside

Our cadets went to 1439 (Skelmersdale) Squadron. Flt Lt Ralph explained how to safely shoot and took them through how to aim before they took part in a competition on accuracy. Whoever could hit the toffee crisp on the bullseye won! Well done everyone and thank you Flt Lt Ralph!

Last week 1098, 1913 and 1128 joined us in our trip to Hangar 42, where the cadets learned about all different aspects of war time Britain and how the spitfire and hurricanes played a vital role in the Battle of Britain. @LSASpitfire @1908BootleATC @1913ATC @CrosbyATC
