I disagree with almost everything the Green party stands for, but what Hannah Spencer has described here shouldn’t be happening. The people we elect shouldn’t be drinking on the job. If one pint is enough to impair your ability to drive, it’s enough to impair judgment when voting on laws that affect the entire country. This isn’t about party politics, it’s about standards.

@mhound5 Not necessarily…. It may actually be an unintended push for it. People like to smoke and have done for generations. Something will take its place. Other countries around the world are relaxing laws around cannabis. Zero benefits to tobacco but there are benefits to cannabis.

Even if you don't like tobacco a ban on cigarettes is bad news for campaigns to legalise cannabis.

I don’t smoke. Never have. I have no skin in the game. But this really is draconian. It should not be within the power of the government to interfere with the personal choices of citizens like this.
