Iran doesn't have an air force or a navy anymore. They have very minimal air defenses. Most of their missile facilities have been destroyed. What they do have is a global propaganda and disinformation network -- the entire Islamoleftist Palestine movement has been mobilized on their behalf. This network extends across all social media. It dominates left-leaning NGOs. It has colonized academia and infected mainstream media. And this entire movement is dedicated to advancing one meme: The idea that the regime that got hit with more than 10,000 US and Israeli airstrikes while its own feeble retaliatory missiles were intercepted more than 90% of the time has nonetheless won the war. The way they've done this is very simple: They shut off the internet in Iran so that no images or videos get out except what they disseminate. Nobody sees destoyed military bases and factories and refineries, so the destruction there remains vague and theoretical in most people's minds. But when a cluster missile hits a building in Israel, there are live correspondents for every global news network on the scene for the simple reason that Israel is a free country where independent journalists can report and Iran is not. And then Islamoleftist social media turn those images into "Boom Boom Tel Aviv" memes, and on a day where Iran took 500 direct airstrikes to sensitive regime targets while an Iranian cluster missile hit some parked cars in Ashdod, the vibe that percolates through social media into mainstream media is: "Israel can't take much more of this." They did the same thing last week. After thousands of successful US bombing runs, Iran managed to get lucky and shot down one 40 year-old F-15 fighter jet. The regime immediately deployed ground forces to try to capture the downed pilots, but US and Israeli air support killed anyone who got close while special forces extracted our people safely. During the rescue, several transport aircraft got stuck in mud and were scuttled on the ground to prevent them from falling into enemy hands. After the US completed its successful operation in the heart of Iran, the regime circulated images of the scuttled craft, falsely claimed to have shot them down (there were no US casualties during the rescue) and declared victory. Many global news outlets led with the destroyed aircraft and their cost, rather than the successful extraction or the casualties Iran incurred in its failed attempts to capture the pilots. Last night, Iran again conned all the global media. First, it sent ceasefire terms through Pakistan to Trump which Trump deemed acceptable to begin negotiation. Then regime propagandists publicized a totally different set of demands, bald-faced lied and claimed these terms were the basis for negotiation and convinced major networks and numerous pundits that Trump had effectively surrendered. Our media isn't very good at filtering fact from fiction when official sources will lie on the record. In the absence of concrete facts, media report based on social media vibes, and Iran is heavily invested in manipulating vibes. But social media vibes aren't as powerful as 10,000 airstrikes, and the truth is that Iran has been devastated, that they are no longer a significant regional military power, and that, in the current negotiations, they will be accepting terms, not dictating them.
