CBC News will add 33 local journalists and create 11 new bureaus, increasing its Canadian footprint from 66 to 77 locations. This "boots-on-the-ground" investment is in addition to last year's expansion of 30 journalists in 22 communities across Canada. cbc.ca/news/editorsbl…

@cultmtl There are conservatives and Conservatives and Progressive Conservatives. I think the group before Harper and PP came along were ones we need now.

“Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Pierre Poilievre — none of these men became household names on merit, they simply cried the loudest. The entire conservative movement is composed of insufferable cry babies aided and abetted by spineless corporate media.” cultmtl.com/2025/12/observ…

China just turned the night sky into a masterpiece of precision and intelligence. 🌌 What struck me most about this is how seamlessly innovation turns into art. A drone show in Chongqing just broke the Guinness World Record with 11,787 synchronized drones, creating breathtaking 3D animations that looked closer to CGI than real life. No human pilots. No delays. No crashes. Every movement guided by AI and GPS, choreographed with perfect timing. To me, this is far more than a light show. It’s a glimpse into how technology, creativity, and coordination can merge to shape a new era of expression and innovation. When intelligence takes flight, it doesn’t just illuminate the sky — it redefines what’s possible. Could this be the moment where technology begins to turn the world itself into its stage? #AI #Innovation #Technology #Drones #Automation #Creativity #China #Engineering #FutureOfWork #DigitalArt Credits: longliveai

Privatization? My husbands pacemaker alone is worth 30K. It keeps him alive. The 30K didn’t include his week in the hospital, the procedure to put it in, the specialists, meds, the programming, revisits etc. All exceeded 200K easily. Do you have that kind of money sitting around?

Some folks have suggested that privatization is the answer to our healthcare woes in Ontario. This is what the Conservative privatization cheerleaders want you to think. The truth is that private clinics and hospitals divert public funds and staff and make our system worse.

Ontario has the fewest hospital beds per person of any province in Canada. Ontario funds its hospitals at the lowest rate per person of all the provinces. We deserve better. #OnPoli #OntarioHealth

My free respirologist found a lump in my neck and sent me for a free ultrasound then a free biopsy where they found cancer so I was put in a free hospital and a free oncologist surgically removed the cancer and then he gave me free checkups for the last five years. 🇨🇦

Happy New Year. If you were out late celebrating last night and need to quickly wake up, try stepping outside. THAT will wake you up. It’s -15°. W/c is an eye opening -25. Don’t look for a rise in temps either. Obviously there is a risk of frostbite. 🌤️ w/WNW winds gusting >30.

Wearing a mask in healthcare settings IS community care and should be mandatory. It helps protect you, other patients and our understaffed hard working frontline healthcare workers across Ontario. Let's all do our part (unless you medically can't, 😷 up!) #oneofthetwo #ER

Chesterton Drive is a collector road that has 2 parks, a public pool, 3 schools, Ottawa Community Housing. Before "New Ways to Bus", Route 111 served Chesterton 7 days/wk. Now, the 189 is the only bus on Chesterton, but only ran Mon-Fri. Now, they get weekend service, too! 8/

In our latest Ward 9 Newsletter, I've got a couple heartwarming stories about some "problem solving" I did with @OC_Transpo. This first story is about how I worked with Sadaqa Food Bank to address a major problem they were experiencing. 1/ youtu.be/Np0ZeVEcGkA?si…

@DevineSean Be careful of city staff doing things to anger residents intentionally in Ward9. It’s been their practice for a long time as a way of removing councillors who don’t take a knee. If I had won in 2010 I had a plan to counter it…

And on CBC, Sadaqa Food Bank client Zak Khire talks about what it was like to lose weekend service for Route 189 and how happy he is to get it back. Sometimes the best policy comes from placing yourself exactly where the policy meets the pavement. cbc.ca/news/canada/ot…

Media covered our GOOD NEWS story: an example of how a small improvement can make a big difference. Still LOTS to fix with @OC_Transpo but yesterday life got a little bit easier for some of Ottawa's most vulnerable residents. Here's CTV's coverage. 1/ ctvnews.ca/ottawa/article…
