Going from watching March Madness to the NBA is one of the most painful things I’ve ever done. How do people actually watch this league on a day to day basis and enjoy it?

@MurrayHillGuy1 The first mistake here is living in the NYC burbs and commuting to the city. About 50% of this dread goes away if you live anywhere other than NY or LA area

Day in the life of the suburbs guy commuting into NYC: 5:52 AM — alarm. immediate dread 6:20 AM — “let’s get after it” (scrolls for 15 mins) 6:45 AM — drives to the train, same route, same thoughts 7:18 AM — train delayed. again 8:34 AM — walks in: “Morning everyone 😄 how was everyone’s weekend?” 9:10 AM — reheated eggs. whole floor smells it 11:45 AM — stares at screen. hates job. year 10 of “just one more year” 12:10 PM — goes out to get the same lunch he’s had the past 7 weeks. Grilled chicken sandwich with bag of chips. 1:40 PM — sees younger coworker “man… I remember when I was single. Don’t ever get married guys” (tries to sound cool, nobody asked) 3:05 PM — checks brackets/ stocks / weather / anything but work 4:59 PM — packs up instantly 5:16 PM — misses train by 2 minutes. *deep sigh* 6:30 PM — home. mentally gone. Too tired go gym for 5th straight year. 7:00 PM — dinner. half listening 8:15 PM — turns on TV 8:47 PM — asleep on couch 11:58 PM — wakes up, TV still on “shit” goes to bed 5:52 AM — alarm

I said about 10 times yesterday that we’re starting at 4 pm today (Duke/TCU). Also if you think Dave is still in Chicago you haven’t watched March madness streams the past 5 years

@JakeMarsh18 Also worth noting a ton 1 seeds got upset in the mid major conference tournaments. I don’t think we got the best of the mid majors this year. One bad night in conference tournament play unfortunately ends their season

Enough of this narrative. High Point, VCU, Saint Louis all advance. Santa Clara a miracle away of knocking out a blue blood. Siena up on Duke for majority of game. Haven’t had many memorable games today, but the first round product as a whole has been great.

Favorites went 16-0 yesterday. This year's first round had 13 of 32 games decided by 20+ points. High Point only true mid-major still alive, and its NIL is probably most of any team in 1-bid league. I hate to admit it, but due to NIL & transfer portal, Cinderellas may be dead.
