As far as I can tell by talking to people, those who hate OO don't actually know what OO is. The thing they hate is badly written, poorly organized, overly complex Java/C++/C# programs, not OO. Simply adding a bunch of interfaces and inheritance does not make a program object-oriented. All that does is add unnecessary complexity. The so-called OO programs that people hate usually throw OO principles to the wind and end up with a chaotic mess. There is such a thing as bad design, and bad programming.

@sabbott02 "tech literacy", or atleast knowing how things work under the hood, is important, don't trust any service provider that can't offer you a detailed specification of what its doing, you are entitled to freedom, nothing can better ensure your privacy than auditing code yourself

@sabbott02 i can only hope people take this as a call to abandon any regulated internet spaces, invest time to research alternatives to the predominantly closed, proprietary, controlled services we use, and divorce yourself from any self-identification and maintain anonymity

@JoelMcCracken i like the keybinds of kakoune, they feel intuitive already, i have no problem with elisp necessarily besides the fact its quite large, i just don't have the motivation to sit down and read

@9fem_ What do you like about it?
I know elisp pretty well, how are you struggling with it?
