after almost 5 years, my time at @JupiterExchange has come to an end. i was lucky enough to join when Jupiter was barely a month old. i started out doing mostly ops stuff: managing the community on Discord, gathering user feedback, running campaigns, writing tweets. then slowly i got to talk to partners about integrations and trying to make Jupiter the default way to swap across Solana. no two months looked the same, and i’m thankful for every bit of it. i’m grateful to have played a small part in so many of the integrations Jupiter has today, from wallets and apps all the way to helping shape the plans for enterprise swap integrations. if you’ve ever swapped through Jupiter inside your favourite wallet or app, there’s a good chance i was part of the conversation. in the early days, i was lucky enough to be flying around to Hacker Houses, running workshops and panels, and repping Jupiter around the world. easily some of the most fun i’ve had in this industry. then came Jupiter Mobile. i got to be there from the acquisition of Ultimate Wallet, through the very first version, all the way to seeing it in everyone’s pocket today. so thankful i got to be part of that. and for the past 15 months, i got to work closely with @kashdhanda across multiple projects. we worked with the Fluid team on Jupiter Lend, then with Ethena on JupUSD and a dedicated Ethena market within Jupiter Lend. some of my fondest memories came from that stretch, and it’s where i learnt the most. but honestly, the work was great. the people were better. i’ve made some of the best friends i could ever ask for here, and the amount of love i’ve felt from my colleagues and friends is what makes leaving so hard. thank you, @sssionggg, for believing in me and giving me a chance. thank you, @weremeow, for the vision that kept us all going. thank you, @kashdhanda, for everything you taught me and all the sleepless brainstorming sessions. and thank you, @wassielawyer and @0xSoju, for being such good friends through it all. and thank you to all the ecosystem partners and friends i’ve met at Hacker Houses, Breakpoint, and countless conferences around the world. these 5 years wouldn’t have been the same without you guys. i’ve been running at 120% for the past few years, so it’s time to take a short break, recharge, and figure out what comes next.

Building @MeteoraAG has been the highlight of my entire career. Over the last 2 months, I have been in a careful transition of Meteora to new leadership led by @realdezen and @SuperHighDeFi. Meteora has built an amazing team and portfolio of projects and initiatives, such as @MeteoraEco, @BedrockFndn, @met_lparmy, @DynamicAssets and more. Expect to meet the respective leaders more as they step up to run their initiatives. I'm immensely grateful to @weremeow and @sssionggg, for hiring me originally for @JupiterExchange, and then empowering me to step into MeteoraAG's role to serve the @met_lparmy and build out a new Meteora. This journey has been a short one (it's been only a year & 5 months!), but the friends we made a long the way was extremely satisfying. From meeting the LP Army, to bootstrapping new initiatives and ideas, every single day has been incredibly satisfying. To all of you on our journey, thank you for accepting me, and working with me to make MeteoraAG a better place. And I hope you will keep going in the many months to come. Soju

the JUP token launched a little over two years ago. since then, we've been through catstanbul, catlumpur, multiple acquisitions, and the team grew from fewer than 20 people to close to 200 people at one point. one of the biggest challenges for me wasn't technical. it was changing my role. when the team was small, decisions happened with a handful of people in a room. we could debate, build, ship, and iterate within days. as the company grew, my days became almost entirely coordination. getting alignment across teams could take weeks. every morning there would be another list of decisions waiting. there was no longer any uninterrupted maker's time left on my calendar. (pg's essay on maker's schedule vs. manager's schedule captures this feeling perfectly.) for a long time, i didn't realize what was happening. the first time you're deciding whether to spend millions of dollars, you think carefully about every angle. after making enough decisions like that, they stop feeling extraordinary. your brain starts optimizing for speed. pattern recognition replaces deliberate thinking. eventually, you're no longer thinking deeply about every problem. you're just unblocking the next urgent thing. looking back, i think i spent a long period operating almost entirely on autopilot. or maybe zombie mode is the better description. nothing was wrong externally. eventually, i realized what was missing. i had stopped learning. that was probably the biggest problem. i wanted something that would force me to become a beginner again. i wanted to think deeply again. i wanted to build again. i wanted to struggle with problems i didn't already know how to solve. that became GUM. building from first principles again has been one of the most enjoyable experiences i've had in years. i find myself reading constantly, learning something new almost every day, and having technical discussions that leave me with more questions than answers. the team makes it even more fun. i'm lucky to work with engineers who have built products that facilitate billions in trading volume, security researchers who constantly challenge assumptions, and former L1 engineers who think about infrastructure from completely different perspectives. every conversation feels like an opportunity to learn. for the first time in a while, i'm uncomfortable again. and i think that's exactly where i want to be. GUM's private beta launches next monday, july 6. i'm excited to start learning from users again.

The vision has been clear for a while. The path less so. Most days were spent moving through uncertainty. Making decisions with incomplete information. Changing our minds. Learning things that could only be learned by doing. It was messier than expected. Which, in hindsight, was probably a good sign. The things worth building rarely arrive fully formed. Now there is a date on the calendar. Soon, something that has lived quietly for months will have to make its own way in the world. That thought carries an unusual weight. Not because it might fail. Failure has never been particularly surprising. It is the possibility that makes me uneasy. The possibility that something imagined might become real. Lately, I have been reminded how difficult it is to know what another person wants. Or what they mean. Or whether silence contains uncertainty or simply patience. Perhaps it does not matter. Soon enough, the questions that can only be answered through experience will answer themselves. And new questions will take their place. That is how progress works. You release. You listen. You learn. You return the next day slightly less certain, but slightly closer. The beginning is near. For now, that is enough.
