Most people don’t know this but you can empty the gun in a single pass. Maintainers won’t be thrilled because it reduces the life of the barrels, but it’s perfectly fine in combat.
Takes about 17 seconds to shoot the full 1174 rounds.
The GAU-8 fires at 70 rounds a second, with the first second being a bit slower as the gun spins up.

President Trump is a killer. I hold him responsible for the murder of individuals in boats whom he claims are "Venezuelan drug traffickers" in international waters in the Caribbean. On the very first strike, which occurred on September 2nd, two initial survivors who were seen hanging off the side of the boat were then targeted and killed by a second strike. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill them all.” Admiral Frank M. Bradley carried out the order to kill the two men hanging from the side of the boat. Since that time, 22 more boats have been bombed and 83 people killed. The President is killing human beings without congressional consultation, without documentation, and without boat investigations. This is a brazen abuse of presidential power. What a shame and dishonor to human rights from the President of the United States of America, who couldn't care less about what members of Congress think, as well as what civil and human rights advocates believe. Trump must be stopped before he elects to kill other people and more people!

Surprising number of people reach out and want to send their kids to here.
They’re like “hey Dale, you don’t know me, but I’d love to send my kids out to your place to work for a couple weeks. I will pay you.”

@Apex_Actual_ Not even close. The F-35 cannot loiter overhead the troops for 3 hours with the firepower the A-10 has. The GAU-8 is a surgical weapon and is far superior than the F-35……attack!

I’d say you know nothing about SOLIC and the CAS of SOF / SF / others in-contact.
The F-35 is as relevant to CAS as the C-17.
Fat, DEI-advancing pencil pushers in the USAF have despised the A-10 since it came online, and despite its extraordinary capability and successes, finally managed to kill it this year.
Lives will certainly be lost as a result…
I am here to write this post only due to the A-10 (on multiple occasions).

Over the last few years of my career, none of the best pilots stayed past 20 years. It was clear that unless you were a DEI officer or an outspoken leftist, upward mobility was nonexistent. The truly skilled fighters just left. Nobody talks about this to avoid sounding bitter, but it’s undeniable. We’re seeing the consequences now.
