@adamdigital The portal actually opens April 7. What we're seeing right now is some nuanced "intends to enter the portal" announcements, including by some players who are still active, at least at the NIT level. This NCAA governing body does not even attempt to enforce its rules anymore. Sad!

One of the more perverse manifestations of the transfer portal opening during March Madness is that the teams still playing are at a disadvantage, focused on their next opponent, while those now eliminated know who won’t be back and can secure talent accordingly. Still, advancing in the Tournament is the best pitch for next year’s prospects. 🏀

The Atlantic 10 has put bids in to take the tournament to Philly multiple times, but have had their bids denied. The city makes perfect sense for the league, but the league can’t get in there, so don’t blame it on the A-10. Cc: @A10Talk @3BidLeaguePod

@xxotaruxx @WestPineBills @SouthwestAir does thirteen direct flights per week between these cities. Basically, every day is a morning and an evening flight in each direction, except for Saturdays. On Saturdays, PIT to STL is in the morning, and STL to PIT is in the evening.

@WestPineBills Only been to Pittsburgh once, but really enjoyed it myself. If they continue with the tournament there, I would def consider going back. Only issue when I went was no direct flight from STL, which might still be the case?

Okay our actual serious thoughts on this topic. Good! Pick a permanent site. We’d seriously advocate for Pittsburgh. We had a blast there, and it felt like a big event around town. On the rare occasion we weren’t in PPG during a game, the A-10 was on a tv wherever we were. (1/2)

"If you think about coming from the Big East, you don't have to ask where the Big East is. You don't have to ask where the big 12 is Kansas City, the SEC is in Nashville, the valley is in St Louis. So I want to find that for us and I, and that's no disrespect to Bernadette. She's made the championship a tremendous event in big NBA buildings, etc, but I want to make sure we pause and make and figure out if that's the best thing for us." (1/2)

With tonight's crowd of 10,879, South Carolina wins its 12th straight National Attendance title. The Gamecocks finish the home season averaging 15,368 FAMS per game in 18 games. No other team averaged 15K. Kudos to @gamecockwbb, Coach @dawnstaley, and FAMS! Go Gamecocks!
