Ann Arbor voters rejected 2 citizen-led ballot proposals that would have paved the way for conservative candidates to get elected. The margin was 2-1, similar to those by which my progressive colleagues and I were elected in primaries. #a2council 🧵

Hooray for two important Ward 5 infrastructure projects being completed this week - road replacement in the Crescents and Sister Lakes! Huge appreciation for City staff making sure these were a success, for clear and ongoing communication with residents, and updates to council.

Not every supporter of A2 Props C & D is a Republican, but nearly every Republican will support C & D. There is a reason Republicans have funneled tens of thousands of dollars into these proposals: C & D are Republicans’ only path to win on #A2Council. Don’t be fooled. VOTE NO!

Proponents of proposals C and D have glued (not just stapled or taped) fliers to posts all over downtown Ann Arbor. Naturally, they’re being ripped down because that’s what happens when you put fliers on public property, but because they were glued they leave behind a mess that will be left for city employees to clean up. These people don’t care about our city. If they did they wouldn’t deface public property. They just want to change the rules to put themselves in power. Vote no, Ann Arbor. Vote no.

So just so I have this straight: the people who were soundly defeated in recent city elections because they had unpopular policies, tolerated racial and homophobic slurs, and were generally nasty people are trying their damnedest to change the rules?#votenoonpropC #votenoonpropD

The notion that big, outside money is controlling elections in Ann Arbor is absurd when you look at the facts. I can assure you my besties, college friends, & former coworkers gave to my campaign because they care a whole lot about me... not to plot to control city government. 🙄
