Under this agreement, AAR will ensure availability and rapid global deployment of the LASEREF IV system, an essential avionics unit installed on a range of business aircraft, for replacement and upgrade. William “Fletch” Fletcher Senior, an Airframe & Powerplant Lead at AAR’s Airframe MRO – Greensboro facility, received the SOAR Award from Alaska Airlines! The award is for going above and beyond to ensure the safety of passengers and crew members. This marks the second time that the award has been presented to someone outside the airline. Fletch earned this award by identifying a recurring issue that was not being captured in the existing maintenance program. Rather than simply fixing the discrepancy and moving on, he raised the concern, engaged directly with Alaska Airlines, and stepped up as a subject matter expert to help create a long‑term, sustainable solution. Today, AAR hosted United States Deputy Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling, MROs, airlines, education entities, and nonprofits at our Airframe MRO facility in Miami for a roundtable discussion to further develop the national workforce through apprenticeships. During the visit, Deputy Secretary Sonderling toured our facility and spoke with apprentices in AAR’s program. “Our highly successful approach to building a workforce pipeline helps meet the talent needs across our global network and support the broader industry.
