Maybe referring to UAE and others. Official reason: To stop a chaotic, panic-style mass selling that could crash prices. The tweet’s spin: In reality, this means some big players (countries or big institutions) are being quietly restricted from freely selling their US assets right now. The swaps are like a temporary fix to prevent a sudden flood of selling. 2. “ICYDK: hidden single digit % sale cap limits some institutional holders.” ICYDK = “In Case You Didn’t Know.” The claim is that there are unofficial limits, big holders can only sell a small percentage of their US bonds at a time (e.g., single-digit % like 5-9%) without triggering problems or needing special approval. It’s like a soft, behind-the-scenes control to avoid a meltdown in the bond market. “Door closes if things escalate. Get out while open.” Right now, there’s still a window for big holders to sell or adjust their positions. But if the conflict worsens, that window will close — selling will become much harder or restricted. Advice: Anyone wanting to reduce their US assets should do it now, while it’s still possible. “Their frontline is the yield curve.” The yield curve is the graph showing US government bond interest rates across different time periods (short-term vs. long-term). This is America’s main “battlefront” right now. If too many people sell US bonds, bond prices drop and yields (interest rates) shoot up. That would create big problems for the US, higher borrowing costs, market panic, and stress in the financial system. Keeping the bond market stable and yields under control is their top priority.
