@MikeBromley15 Can agree with that. I also would like to see the family home above a certain value included in the assets test for pensioners. Too many people getting a pension when they have the means to support themselves
English

@AB1327 They need to cut spending which is helping drive inflation - NDIS needs root and branch reform if it’s salvageable / ongoing consulting industry rorts / other captured industries like ATSI funding .. then there’s productivity reform which has been absent for 2 decades

Maybe now Chalmers, France, Cook and others are in serious trouble on these numbers they may wake up but suspect not given they were doing Tik Tok dancers only three weeks ago.

@MikeBromley15 Putting housing aside what exactly do you want them to do on cost of living?
English

@MarkoMatvikov @melanietaylor2 Surely you should be more concerned that the poor guy is obviously homeless and down on his luck & you have just plastered him all over social media
English

@ArtistAffame They got one, unfortunately! But I will take the Labor win over them winning anymore seats.
English

Why I believe in separate public toilets for men & women. Don’t get me started about plane toilets. Men should be told to sit down on those 🤬🤬🤬 so sick of flipping down the seat with my foot

@charles_haig01 Voters can lodge their protest votes by voting for any other party than ON. They are a racist, xenophobic bunch of grifters. But if gets the Libs sorted that’s something
English

How dare voters influence public policy through their vote in a democracy

South Australian treasurer Tom Koutsantonis says the 20%+ One Nation primary vote in SA will see the next federal election descend to the “dark days” of a fight over immigration.

@MsMountebank Yes, should end really well. Iran will not be beholden to his threats

Oh goody an Armageddon deadline from such a well-balanced chap.

@bangtanmum Looks fabulous !! Congrats to him. The floorboards look amazing.

This is what the people whose hate Albo and the ALP and say they're voting One Nation as a result completely miss - all they're doing is further entrenching Labor governments.
Which would be a terrible shame in Victoria later this year.

@AB1327 @taipan168 All housing not just rents should be in CPI
The housing price crisis would never have eventuated
English

I’ve said this before and it’s true. Means testing of benefits was the way that Australia kept government welfare spending relatively low as a % of GDP.
Such a shame that this model is breaking down on a number of fronts, including the age pension.

@noreasonspec @taipan168 Sigh! It’s thanks to policies in existence. Boomers just got to take advantage of them exactly as we would have done if we were in their shoes. People vote & act in self interest
English

@AB1327 @taipan168 Because thanks to boomers they have never really had a fighting chance to do so
English

@noreasonspec @taipan168 Just a piece from 7 news saying that only 35% of Gen Z value home ownership. They value financial independence above everything else. 🤷♀️🤷♀️
English

@AB1327 @taipan168 But it’s why politicians can argue that they do
English

Holy moly I know it’s East Melbourne but that far over the reserve … yikes theage.com.au/property/news/…

@kookcove @fictillius It’s their money not govt money. Whilst I think pokies should be blown up people can do what they like with their own money.
NDIS & Childcare subsidies is govt money & we have a right to complain when it’s being wasted
English

@fictillius People conplain about NDIS and childcare subsidiaries which are least aimed being productive but yet we have $9bn being lost to complete unproductivity. This is abhorrent waste of money.
English

@AB1327 @taipan168 People on 500k don’t need it
But the reason why people on 500k get it and why it can be argued for by politicians
Is out of control house prices
Everything leads back to housing. Everything
