@ABM_Prottoy @traits_reality They just don't want to switch because if they switch, they either would need to purge all their blogs and posts, etc., or spend resources and time converting that information over to their new CMS.

the codex windows app has this weird hidden navigation button that feels like antipattern on windows. no other app on windows does this. moreover this offsetting ALT menu from the corner is also very alienating. all the menu entries are very basic electron slop too.

My dear front-end developers (and anyone who’s interested in the future of interfaces): I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept): Fast, accurate and comprehensive userland text measurement algorithm in pure TypeScript, usable for laying out entire web pages without CSS, bypassing DOM measurements and reflow

@thsottiaux we had to make rules and waste prompts to reverse things like this on company repo. no we don't want this.

Do people like this? We don't do this for codex because it exists to help you and it's important that you remain the owner and accountable for your work without AI taking credit. At the same time it does mean that you can't trace how popular codex is among repos.
Yuchen Jin@Yuchenj_UW

I noticed something interesting: Claude Code auto-adds itself as a co-author on every git commit. Codex doesn’t. That’s why you see Claude everywhere on GitHub, but not Codex. I wonder why OpenAI is not doing that. Feels like an obvious branding strategy OpenAI is skipping.

Composer 2 vs Opus 4.6 vs GPT 5.4 - a totally unscientific test > Create a Twitter clone. Use Better Auth, Vite, Sqlite, Drizzle, Typescript, and React with Tanstack Start. Each one took ~5 mins in plan mode. Each had access to a browser to test. Composer: 5 mins $6.04 1,250 LOC Opus: 19 mins $10.43 1,000 LOC GPT: 22 mins $14.15 2,000 LOC Opus seems to use the cache WAY more than composer, so it's not really 10x more expensive. Composer app ran first try. Other two needed a bit of CORS debugging but did work. Code between all was extremely similar All three done inside cursor - so Claude Code / Codex may have been different Models used: Composer 2.0 (regular, not fast) Opus 4.6 Medium Thinking GPT 5.4 Medium Thinking

Cursor just launched Composer 2 - their own model. It's 10× cheaper than Opus 4.6 and supposed to rival it. I've been using it for a few days, I don't have any skewed graphs to show you but from a pure vibes POV I can tell you it's pretty good™ My litmus test right now is if it can build a 3D Printable model with Manifold CAD. I build a Gif zoetrope generator and it did fantastic.

@kepano internet explorer on Lumia/Windows Phone 8 was the first browser to do this. Loved their horizontal reading pane so much. This looks remarkably promising..

I have been working on Obsidian Reader for a over a year. I didn't want to share it until I felt it was good enough. It's finally there. Consistent formatting for any article. Outline, syntax highlighting, nice footnotes, adjustable typography. Runs locally. Just rules, no AI.

@thsottiaux also I would love a selector or DOM element chooser or anything to pinpoint elements on frontend. Otherwise prompting it to change a small thing always ends up creating a whole new thing beside the actual changes

today’s experiment: chimera. a little tool that let’s you realtime morph through a design system matrix generated by 4 reference images. this one was inspired by listening to @jameygannon talk about her process on Dive Club with @ridd_design and How I AI with @clairevo. her approach to choosing moodboards over prompts made me wonder what might be possible if we applied that same approach to generative UI. and after a few dead ends, the idea turned into chimera. the results are very generic at the moment but I might tune it up if people seem interested. the big reminder for me is how much more inspiring a tool feels when you can explore in realtime instead of waiting for results every time you make a change. lots more things to try in that direction.

@OpenAIDevs Now that we've got Codex on Windows, can we get a more integrated and native like ChatGPT app? Codex can pull it off. Codex albeit electron app feels more native than ChatGPT app.
