(1/3) #OnThisDay, the MS St. Louis anchored in the port of Havana in 1939. The ship had been at sea for two weeks since setting sail from Germany on May 13, 1939 with 937 passengers on board. The majority of them were Jewish refugees trying to escape Nazi oppression in Europe.
