Poipet Governor Issues Four Directives as Compound Crackdown Continues As Cambodia's National Police continue clearance operations on scam compounds in Poipet, Banteay Meanchey Governor Oum Reatrey convened a provincial meeting and issued four directives to property owners and businesses across the province. No housing or employing foreigners without passports and valid visas. No human trafficking, labor trafficking, sex trafficking, illegal detention or torture on their premises. No renting space for drug use, sale, storage or manufacture, with regular reports required to law enforcement. No renting space for online scam operations. The Governor said Banteay Meanchey will strictly enforce the anti-scam law and Sub-Decree 03. These compounds have operated in Poipet for years. Why has it taken so long for the directives to arrive.
