Maine Wire has exploded in popularity since the founder, Steven Robinson, appeared on Tucker Carlson's podcast last year and Shawn Ryan's podcast this year to rail against immigrants in Maine (Chinese and Somalis, respectively). The vast majority of their content feeds into the partisan right-wing MAGA bases frustration with mass migration. MW tries to explain that the worst people could imagine about immigrants in Maine are true and are being covered up by a malicious, incompetent left. But who is behind them and how are they producing so much content so quickly?

The Maine Chapter of the American Communist Party concluded the winter clothing drive for Maine Needs and donated more than 4 dozen winter coats for Mainers next year! As war looms over America, the ACP serves the people regardless of capitalist crisis. The People's needs must be served: no ifs, ands, or buts!

On February 28, ACP Mass and @ACP_Connecticut stood out against the war on Iran over Route 16 in Newington, New Hampshire. The US government, Trump, Israel, and the Republican and Democratic parties are determined to crush the bodies and spirits of all people here and around the world who want to resist their Epstein agenda. The ACP says, solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Iran, who show that fighting back is possible. To our government: Drop the files, not the bombs!

"DROP THE FILES NOT THE BOMBS". Those were the words raised high alongside the powerful banner of the Iranian flag of resistance on a New Hampshire overpass on February 28th, by ACP CT and @ACP_Mass. The Epsteinite regime seeks to terrorize the planet at the expense of the American working class. Every patriot in the country knows that there is no justice in this war, and must answer the call to hold this corrupt pedophile regime accountable!

This last weekend, the Maine chapter of the ACP met in Bangor to demonstrate against the Trump administrations' strikes on Iran, its continued support for the Ukrainian fascist regime, and the UNIPARTY defense of the predatory Epstein class from justice. The people of Bangor enthusiastically supported the demonstration, regardless of whether they were liberal or conservative, honking their horns in support during 5pm traffic. The ACP wants to rebuild a government of, by, and for the people. We want not only to seek justice for the criminals who take advantage of the people of this country, but also serve the people materially by rebuilding much neglected infrastructure, which is crumbling in the northern rural areas of the state of Maine due to corruption and a focus on war rather than development.

The Maine chapter of the ACP commemorated the death anniversary of the Maine-born Civil War General Joshua L. Chamberlain this February by organizing a hike in honor of his sacrifice for the cause of the American Union and against slavery. Chamberlain passed away on February 24th, 1914. The chapter made the hike an opportunity for people to gather and reflect on the role played by Joshua L. Chamberlain in the battle of Gettysburg, and how his military tactics were decisive to the outcome of the battle. During the battle, Chamberlain held the westernmost flank of Union forces, repelling a Confederate encirclement by charging bayonets into advancing rebel forces. The chapter also discussed the struggles of not only the American Civil War, but how Marx and Engels drew insights into military tactics and political power which Lenin, Mao, and other anti-colonial and national independence fighters used to win. Continue the struggle today by joining your local chapter at acp.us/join

After last months winter storm, ACP ME returned to Bangor Area Homeless Shelter to prepare meals for those experiencing homelessness in a nation where there are 6 empty homes for every 1 unhoused person. The chapter also provided a large supply of handwarmers. The city of Bangor, once a 19th-century industrial hub known as the Lumber Capital of the World, has faced economic hardship due to the deindustrialization of the United States, leading to a decline in living standards. ACP ME remains committed to those in need, by stepping in to lift those left behind by the brutal, uncaring acts of capitalism. The ACP stands for the adoption of an Economic Bill of Rights guaranteeing every American citizen a right to employment in productive industry, a living wage, a decent home, medical care, child care, social security, and quality education.

This past month, the country was hit by a brutal winter storm that resulted in subzero temperatures in many states, Maine being one of them. In preparation, a region of ACP ME mobilized at the Waldo County Woodshed to process firewood for locals to heat their homes. The firewood is provided for free, and the woodshed operates on a volunteer basis. While this work for the community was and is essential, this particular mobilization also allowed the chapter to practice manual labor, gear prep, and attire prep in subzero temperatures. Our preparedness and ability to work in various conditions, alongside our steel bond as a chapter is stronger than ever in the face of increasing violence. Basic community work is necessary for building dual power, and is even more necessary during periods of crisis, both political and meteorological. Fewer pompous phrases, more plain, everyday work. Less political fireworks, and more attention to the simplest but vital facts of communist construction.

On December 20th, ACP ME attended an anti-imperialist rally against the US military provocations against Venezuela and the US support for the Zionist entity. The rally asked the question: who is going to fund this war? The answer is clearly the American working class, and no other. At a time where the members of an American family must work multiple jobs to scrape by, billions spent to mobilize military personnel against a peaceful and sovereign Venezuela can only be explained by the Party of Epstein that oppresses Americans at home, and freedom fighters abroad. Two weeks later, President Nicolás Maduro was kidnapped by Zionist forces from the United States despite the American people expressing popular discontent with aggression on Venezuela. ACP ME attended a second anti-imperialist rally on the day of Maduro's kidnapping to express continued support for Venezuela and its right to self determination. President Nicolas Maduro is a hero to the Venezuelan people, and an example for the American people of what true sovereign leadership can do for it's citizenry. ACP ME STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE ATTACKS ON VENEZUELA BY THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION The ACP stands for the wholesale abolition of the Military-Industrial Complex; we need jobs to serve all Americans, not banksters, not politicians, not speculators, not war pigs. The ACP is committed to the principle of the Right to the Self-Determination of Nations.

The Maine Chapter of the American Communist Party volunteered at the Cumberland Woodbank in the fall to organize and stack wood in advance of winter. The Cumberland Woodbank sustains several dozen families in Cumberland, North Yarmouth, Yarmouth, Falmouth, Gray, and New Gloucester. It is volunteer run and is sustained 100% by donations and the first Woodbank in the state to begin operations in 2007. It's no surprise the Woodbank has come to help Mainers left behind in the leadup to and aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis; which, due to the machinations of Wall Street, devastated home owners across the state— forcing them to choose between a cold house or to become homeless. In a country with massive energy reserves and wealth, why must it's citizens make such choices? The American Communist Party stands for the rapid and comprehensive development of all viable energy technologies — including nuclear fusion technologies. Cheap energy is in the common interest of the American people as well as a common responsibility; we ensure this by supporting people's everyday needs today.

Twice this holiday season, the Maine chapter of the American Communist Party worked alongside Hammond Street Congregational Church to prepare and cook three meals for those in need; two meals near Thanksgiving, and one meal near Christmas. One Thanksgiving meal helped feed over 150 members of the community, while the other two meals helped feed 40 people each at Bangor Area Homeless Shelter, the shelter that the chapter aided earlier this year. ACP ME remains committed to solving issues in areas struggling from lack of nutrition, housing, and community. As our ruling institutions continue underfunding our communities while overfunding foreign interventions and bailing out everyone except We The People, the American Communist Party takes up the responsibility of aiding those in need.

On November 18th and 19th, the Maine chapter of the American Communist Party stood in solidarity alongside striking nurses in freezing temperatures at Houlton Regional Hospital in Houlton, Maine. The chapter is honored to have participated in the first ever strike in Houlton. The nurses went on strike after almost a whole year of fighting for a new contract, exacerbated strain on nurses due to short staffing by management to cut costs, and recent closure of the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum department in May. In the state of Maine, underfunding and cutbacks have taken its toll on primarily rural healthcare infrastructure. Eleven birthing units in the state have closed in the last decade, four of which have closed in the last year. One full hospital has closed in the past year, and multiple nursing homes have closed as well. The Communist Party stands for the adoption of public health programs and initiatives promoting preventive and holistic care, physical exercise and fitness campaigns on a national scale, and the construction of new healthcare facilities in rural areas.

The Maine chapter of the American Communist Party participated in a region-wide community service day where members partook in an extensive network of partial renovations and home improvement. Members worked on a local residents house, where they replaced fascia and soffit boards, and also partially reconstructed foundation beams at the entry vestibule. Historical regions of America like coastal New England have distinct architectural styles that define geography, history, and culture. These historical homes are increasingly neglected by the lack of investment in rural infrastructure and weatherization. Instead, the regions' military-industrial complex, tourism, and real estate speculation such as seasonal rentals receive the lion's share of investment. The American Communist Party is committed to the prohibition of parasitic land, real estate, and housing property speculation, and abolishing the military-industrial complex. The Communist Party stands for the conversion of the U.S. Military into a Public Works and Service Army that will rebuild, repair, and improve public infrastructure and mobilize to provide relief from environmental disasters, renovate small communities, and construct large-scale public works.
