If you read any trading posts on X over the weekend, you probably would have been very short biased. Today is a great illustration of trading price only and not predicting, and also why the failed breakdown is such a powerful setup. Shorts pile in early, then get squeezed out.

Wild overnight session on $ES_F as a huge gap-down sell into 6610 gave us a fresh failed breakdown setup on the 6616 reclaim. Now at the pivotal area I've been talking about since last week: 6680. Bulls attempting to push out of it and fill the gap.

Deep red opening on $ES_F, cruising below the 6680 I've been warning about. Be very careful. 6582 dip with 6587 reclaim, below there 6490's has my interest for longs. Bulls have a shot over 6648 & 6688.

All last week I mentioned the 6680 "Danger Zone" for $ES_F. Any loss there, bulls will want to see a quick recovery with squeeze fuel. Hanging out too long can be trouble & potential further breakdown. Eyes on 6688, 6721, 6782 reclaims for longs.

$ES_F 6719 flush + reclaim could not have worked better as we saw a nearly 60pt squeeze from our level into the 6780 breakdown back-test. With a green trade in the books (+ some overnight puts) I'm sitting on my hands until I see a 6680 dip and reclaim or 6782+

@gandalftrd data releases can always bring some fireworks for sure.

Decision time for $ES_F as it breaks a lower trendline at 6795-6800. Reclaim 6804+ for potential move higher.

Today was day 34 of crossing $ES_F 6869.50 since Oct 9, 2025. Still within that 88 (now 89) day VAL range, closing right near the bottom. Still failing to overtake the POC at 6911. For tomorrow, I have eyes on 3 levels: 6773, 6719, 6680-6689.

We didn't quite get the 6773 dip we wanted but it still proved to be a reactive level as $ES_F launched into a powerful squeeze giving us the opportunity to hop on over 6800 or on our 6813 reclaim. A wild ride today but proof that it's ok to be patient and wait for a setup.

Ugly mid-day dump on $ES_F - nothing wrong with sitting on hands and waiting. As noted, I'm looking for a dip below 6773 and a reclaim for a potential long - but it's already a winning day and I'm in no hurry. 6718 is on watch. Below 6680 things can get very ugly

@gandalftrd I don't use his levels or entries, but I studied him & Vic Sperandeo a lot when I went from "Investing" to "Trading" so our styles & methods are similar as we both favor the failed breakdown setup. He's a great trader/mentor and I learned a ton from him.

Please disregard my earlier "inside day" comment - need to get my eyes checked. Today was NOT an inside day (body only). Plan for tomorrow - $ES_F gave us some new levels to keep an eye on. 6866 loss + 6871 reclaim (risky) 6813 loss + 6818 reclaim 6773 loss + 6778 reclaim

@gandalftrd Thanks! Probably more detail involved in those questions than I can reasonably answer on Twitter, honestly, but simple answer is I scale out along the way and hold a runner.

@ACTrades2010 Interesting charts.. How do you execute the dip and reclaim trades and and how do you manages stop loss, take profit etc? Would appreciate your insights as I trade in a very similar way...

Overnight session gave us a new low 6840, which gave us a long entry back over 6845 all the way to 6877 near the $ES_F open. This we took profits along the way and runner stopped out green. Market bleeding now - will watch for the 6813 dip & reclaim, but mid-day not ideal.

My mistake - hit "post" before I reviewed - today was in fact NOT an inside day!

In addition, today was the 5th day in a row where $ES_F's daily candle body was lower than the previous day. Using only body, today was an "inside" day. What does it mean? We are stuck in a range and the bull's job is NOT done!

Volume Profiles are an interesting thing. They'll show you how much trading volume occurred at each price level over a given time period. Volume Profiles have a "value area" and POC (point of control), which is where the MOST volume traded.

Bulls took back some control today by reclaiming 6855 and 6876 - but we are not out of the woods! I'd like to see that candle body move a little higher, and I'd like to see $ES_F HOLD above that 88 day POC of 6911, if we are to set ANOTHER new ATH.
