@AntigoneJournal Thank you for posting this fascinating vocab list. I've been relearning my AG and have just finished Aeschylus' Ag. - it's striking how many of the words on this list I recognise from that play. btw, any chance of getting the remaining pages (13-20?)

Here are pages 1-4 of the 20-page list of rarer Greek words that teenagers learned at Winchester College in the 1950s. Having been at seminars where Professors of Greek confuse Τοῦ and του, or τρἐπω and τρἐφω, I think this can speak for itself.

I heard this was a really interesting and successful event - exploring how to teach the history of Israel-Palestine to A-level students. Glad to hear that more are planned. Well done, Mike!

Looking forward to listening to Francesca Albanese at the Balfour Project's Annual Conference, 'Human Rights in Palestine', in London next Wednesday. She has an article in the Guardian today: hard hitting and on target. lnkd.in/eKZTeR7w lnkd.in/eDd2ncZD

@cyprusmail The question here seems to be, Who do you trust more, the current board of directors of Bank of Cyprus, or the EU's Single Supervisory Mechanism?

@janinedigi @butt_gerald @ChurchTimes I am not a religious person, but I am very disturbed by the (sometimes deliberate) destruction and (sometimes neglectful) decline of Christian heritage in the Middle East. Let's hope this book - insightfully reviewed here by Gerald Butt - brings more focus to the issue.

@kingsCHS @KingsAHRI As an Amateur Philehellene, I've been reading this book in recent weeks. The Greek is easy to read and the vocabulary is not too obscure. The stories are short and easily digestible, and present a poignant picture of Greece during the recent economic crisis. Highly recommended.

This ia a good article in the FT. IMHO, it's not credible that the new coalition will be any better than Netenyahu's gov. but it's good to see Netenhayu, a nasty, warlike man, out of power. Nethttps://www.ft.com/content/18f00186-af55-4fbf-9bda-5e71e7683965 via @financialtimes

Interesting chart from @IEA's World Energy Investment report on shifting investment trends #OOTT "Upstream spending by the Majors as a group has traditionally been well above the levels from their peers in the Middle East, Russia and China; this is no longer the case."

Fabulous to hear Baroness Hale @BalfourProject - Starts by stating that the 2nd part of the Balfour Declaration has not been implemented "the rights of the non-Jewish communities in Palestine have indeed been prejudiced, and much of this is in breach of international law"

Ahmed AlMansi had a popular YouTube channel with his daughters Sarah & Hala about their life in #Gaza. In one video he tries to distract his terrified girls from the airstrikes with toys. It would his last. Ahmed was killed in airstrikes over the weekend independent.co.uk/news/world/mid…
