@AzeemRafiq30 He literally just says it isn’t a big deal, and condemns booing. Genuinely; what are you on about? “Consistently” - I listen to the show everyday and can’t recall him talking about anything related to Islam before. Stop baiting.

@ClareWoodhead3 @cricket_badger Well this is the key point for why the ECB don’t want to just hand the money away no questions asked to the counties to patch up their losses. As when it’s gone, it’s gone. Hence they are right to implement sustainability measures.

@AD492004 @cricket_badger Do we know the 'ring-fenced' amount each County received of that $500m? And now that the ECB has sold its cash cow, how will they continue to fund County cricket (& grassroots cricket) once the funds ultimately run out? I really hope Cricket Australia doesn't go down this route.

@cricket_badger Guardian nonsense. Both sentences paint a misleading picture. -Rishi’s funding was pulled because he lost the election and Labour scrapped it. - Sussex’s special measures is being given Hundred money from the £500m on the condition that they cut their losses and spend less

“The £35m in grassroots funding announced by Rishi Sunak in 2024 turned out not to exist. The sale of the eight Hundred franchises raised more than £500m, but Sussex have just been put into special financial measures.” 2/2

@ClareWoodhead3 @cricket_badger The Hundred sales proceed are held by the ECB. Each county has been allocated a ring-fenced amount. The counties can apply to receive this funding for debt reduction, capital expenditure projects etc. They will also receive the interest on the funds periodically.

@cricket_badger Where did all that money actually go? Surely where that money is spent is available for all to see?

@cricket_badger We dont know the exact problem with Sussex. But 2 years of losses should not be bailed out by the 100 windfall. The 100 money - quite rightly - should go on long term sustainabilty projects, not bailing out losses. Sussex needs to get on an even keel first.

@NickTFord @NoContextCounty Trouble is, the “sell out” is to fund every single county and keep their lights on. To be able to play cricket. So it’s a tricky one

@NoContextCounty Pure and simple an ECB sell out, utterly pathetic. I really hope it’s a complete failure.

For all its ills the Hundred has at least been able to cling to the guise of trying to grow the game in this country over the last few years. With the introduction of ‘Sunrisers Leeds’, ‘Mumbai Indians London’ and a Manchester Originals logo with an Elephant on it any remnants of that illusion has been well and truly burnt to the ground. Whilst I completely get the fact the new owners will want to grow their global brands this should never have been allowed to happen. This countries governing body has well and truly sold the game up the river. They’ve given one of our supposed biggest rivals largest leagues the keys to the city and destroyed any attempt to ‘connect’ with the local community, I just pray to god the counties an able to sweep up those with a passing interest in the game who are looking for a genuine local connection!

@ArsenalZNE Raya is mid. Arsenal just plays with 4 CBs and 3 DMs so he is better protected than most. If we swapped Raya for Alisson Raya would get exposed.

🚨🔴‼️Jamie Carragher on David Raya being one of the best goalkeepers in the world 😉: “David Raya, for me, it’s between him and Alisson in the Premier League for the best goalkeeper. He’s certainly one of the best goalkeepers in the world and that’s why he keeps so many clean sheets.”
