@Farouk_Mokwa Marriage is an act of Ibadah in Islam. You can practice your Nupe culture without trying to look down on others. You decide to wait weeks fine, he decides to enter immediately it's all fine.

Who consummates marriage on the first night? If you ask a man, can't be patient enough, then please don't send people's daughters to early depression. On the first night of our wedding, I didn't even know which room my bride was sleeping in, in Nupe culture, the wife is taken to the family house to spend some few days with the parents to create this bond amongst the family. During that period, she will be taught the rest of the things she needs to know, this usually takes 2 to 3 days. As the husband, you will be busy going to your in-laws house to go and appreciate them for the wife they give you. It's never a problem in my culture, as for those that are always eager to consummate the marriage on the first night, don't you people have important things to discuss? Like counting the money spread or given during the ceremony? Even when we move to our house, the first night, we spent it praying together and recalling all the moments of the wedding as well appreciating and thanking God for the success of our wedding and planning on the next step ahead of us. Don't always be in a rush to enter your wife, why rush the food that's yours to eat forever? Take your time, study her sexual behaviour, let her be the one to come and ask why you don't want to touch her since you guys got married. By doing so, you are ensuring she's fully prepared and ready, like I have written before, the first time should strictly be foreplay till the place is so drizzling with wetness, let her be the guide dude, let her lead you on and how she wants it, don't rush it, take your time, that's where the thrill lies man.

A BIG PROBLEM IN NEW MARRIAGES TODAY Sometimes, on the first night of marriage, some men are unable to have full intimacy with their wives. This has caused many marriages to break early. People often blame the woman, but in reality, many times the issue is from the man. This can happen because of many reasons such as lack of experience, fear, young age, or health problems. In our society, people are quick to blame the bride. Some say she refuses her husband, some say she is pretending, and others blame evil forces. This misunderstanding can lead to shame, pain, and even divorce. But the truth is, it is not always the woman’s fault. Sometimes the problem comes from the man, like health issues, lack of knowledge, or impatience. Some men do not realize this. They marry 2 or 3 wives, yet still face the same problem, because the real issue was never solved. Young girls become divorced early, and young men marry many times without peace, because of misunderstanding. VAGINISMUS There is a condition called vaginismus. It happens when the muscles of the vagina tighten by themselves during intercourse. This is not the woman’s choice. Her body reacts automatically, and it can make penetration painful or difficult. Some women describe it like a door that closes when someone tries to enter. This does not mean she hates her husband. Often, it is caused by fear or anxiety. Possible causes: Fear of pain during first intercourse Lack of proper knowledge Anxiety or stress Past trauma or bad experience Infection or health issues Negative teachings about sex while growing up IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO MEN Intimacy is not a competition, and it should not be rushed. It needs patience, care, and understanding. Sometimes the problem may come from: Lack of patience No proper preparation or foreplay Stress or anxiety Undiagnosed health issues Men should understand that not every problem comes from the woman. WHAT SHOULD BE DONE The most important thing is understanding and seeking help: Be patient with each other Talk calmly and openly Seek medical or professional help Avoid blaming or shaming each other This problem can be treated with proper care and understanding. MESSAGE TO PARENTS AND SOCIETY Teach your children about marriage in the right way, both boys and girls. Do not leave them to learn wrong ideas outside. Not every problem in marriage is caused by evil or magic. Sometimes it is a health or psychological issue that needs knowledge and care. Before blaming the bride or ending a marriage, seek the truth and ask experts. Sometimes the door is not locked. It is fear that closed it. With patience and understanding, it can open again. May this message reach the right people. May Allah bring benefit, peace, and understanding to our homes.

I attended a Hausa Christian wedding in Kano recently, and honestly, it felt less like stepping into something “different” and more like rediscovering something deeply familiar. The language, the laughter, the rhythm of the gathering, everything felt like home. The groom’s uncles still sat with that quiet authority, nodding in approval. The aunties still ran the show behind the scenes, making sure everything moved smoothly while pretending not to be in charge. And of course, the friends, loud, playful, and fully committed to turning every moment into a celebration. At some point, I had to remind myself, “Wait, this is a Christian wedding,” because beyond the church service itself, you could easily mistake it for any Hausa wedding you’ve ever attended. The attire? Impeccable. Flowing gowns, neatly tailored kaftans, gele tied with precision, and that unmistakable northern elegance. The food? Generous, spicy, and served with pride. The music? Oh, the music still carried that familiar Hausa soul, even when the lyrics leaned more toward gospel. What struck me most was how culture quietly held everything together. Faith shaped the ceremony, yes, but culture shaped the feeling. The respect for elders, the structured greetings, the importance of family, the communal joy, these things didn’t change. Even the jokes were the same. Someone teasing the groom. Someone negotiating playfully on behalf of the bride. Someone cracking that one joke that makes the entire gathering erupt in laughter. You could close your eyes and know exactly where you were, not by religion, but by identity. It was a beautiful reminder that we are, in many ways, cut from the same cloth. Same traditions, same values, same sense of community, just expressed through different spiritual paths. And maybe that’s the real takeaway: beneath the labels and differences, we are far more alike than we often admit. Same people, same roots, just different ways of saying our prayers. I left with a full stomach, a light heart, and a quiet thought lingering in my mind: if more of us experienced moments like this, we might spend less time focusing on what separates us and more time celebrating what already binds us together. Green is the official colour 💚

Bashir Ahmad and Gumi have never condemned attacks by Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, bandits, or ISWAP. They clearly understand the agenda, but what they don’t seem to understand is that this is the modern age of information, where people cannot be easily deceived—unlike in the past, when some used religious texts to justify their actions. Imagine Gumi, an Imam, supporting terrorists and calling them his children, while the Muslim community remains mostly silent. Now imagine if a pastor openly supported IPOB—you would see Christians rise up immediately. Even in smaller scandals, like Pastor Chris Okafor and Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, Christians spoke out loudly. In trying to protect or promote their religion, some end up tarnishing it instead.

@TadyJerry You guys are deliberately ignorants. How many times did Christians attacked Muslims during Eid celebration? Just check Google. And this attack too was carried out by Christians on Christians to provoke Christian to kill Muslims. Sponsored by ex-robber Dachomo and Alex

There's something many of you are refusing to address concerning this Jos issue but I'll raise it. The Muslims in Jos fasted and did their Eid peacefully, no attack was made on their community. Now that the Christians in Jos are celebrating Easter, there are attacks. Do you have any idea what will happen in Jos & other Northern states if the Muslims get attacked in their own community during fasting and Eid? Yet you think the Christians are overreacting? They should forget about the government and defend themselves vigorously from whoever the attacks are coming from and yes, it is valid to think the attacks are coming from the Muslims because it's a pattern, it's not new. The Muslims will think the same if they were attacked during their celebrations. RISE AND DEFEND YOURSELVES.

Muslims will call out the pastors, Traditionalists will call out the pastors, Even Christians would call out the pastors… On the killings by the Muslim terrorists… But I have never seen anyone call out the Muslim clerics & Imams. Infact, no Muslim cleric speaks against the killings. Can’t you see that you are under a spell & being demonically manipulated against the church? You are really really sick in your head if you always call out the pastors but have never ever called out the Imams & Islamic clerics on whose religion these heinous crimes are being perpetrated.
