REVIEW: #TheSuperMarioGalaxyMovie is full of scenes of running, leaping, chasing, falling through the air, falling into lava, fighting and more fighting, but nothing in the movie is sustained.
It’s a mad jumble, an eager product-tie-in mess. It’s one of the only animated features since the “Pokémon” films that seems to be wearing its Easter eggs on the outside.

@K_Alex1 @NextGenPlayer they’re not AAA because they take 2 - 3 years to make, budgets ranging from 80 - 150M max, but they deliver experiences that are great just like an AAA that takes 5 - 6 years to make.

@NextGenPlayer Not sure how we end in this race. I miss the PS2 era when we got full trilogies in the span of 6 years (i.e. Prince of Persia, DMC, Tomb Raider, Onimusha). Now they need 6+ years to deliver a game! They get announced at the start of the gen and they deliver in next-gen hardware!

Jason Schreier says AAA game budgets are sitting at $300 million or more these days.
It might be time for Sony and other publishers to consider producing more AA games.
I would much rather see Sony releasing more AA single player games in between the blockbusters than continue pushing in the direction of live service.
