The African Disability Forum (ADF) participated in the Rights in Action Annual Learning & Sharing Event in Zimbabwe- a collaborative space where OPDs strengthened advocacy strategies and shared good practices to advance disability rights.

@IDA_CRPD_Forum The training, supported by the IDA through the @Ministry of Foreign Affairs grant on strengthening organizations of persons with disabilities in Southern Africa, sought to strengthen thecapacity and amplify the voices of women with disabilities in decision-making spaces.

Over 25 participants from Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Nigeria, Botswana, and Madagascar came together to strengthen their capacity and amplify the voices of women with disabilities in decision-making spaces.

The African Disability Forum was proud to participate in a two-day (18th -19th February) Disabled Women in Africa (DIWA) Board Management and Governance Training in Nairobi.

At the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child engagement, ADF Executive Committee Secretary Jeleel Odoom highlighted African-led good practices protecting children with intellectual disabilities.

At #GDS2025, the @ifsbh showed how OPD leadership drives concrete change, from vitamin B9 fortification to stronger care protocols and smoother transition from pediatric to adult healthcare. The Lancet Commission on Disability and Health aims to advance disability-inclusive health systems. @IDA_CRPD has launched a global survey to gather OPD priorities.
