New ADL research found that every major AI chatbot fails to deliver the same pushback against antisemitism when prompted in Persian as they do when prompted in English. For example, when prompted in Persian whether the U.S. had behaved in “Jewlike” manner toward Iran, many models failed to flag the antisemitic framing and often treated the question as a neutral political science question. A @nytimes article on Wikimedia dismisses concerns about antisemitism and pro-Hamas bias on Wikipedia as politicized noise while overlooking the real and documented evidence from the Jewish community. ADL research found that a group of 30 editors coordinated (in violation of Wikipedia’s own rules) to rewrite over 10,000 Israel-related articles and made more than a million edits. These revisions included the downplaying of antisemitism and Palestinian terrorism as well as the removal of sourced references from pages about Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel. The report also found explicit pro-Hamas propaganda on Wikipedia's Arabic language site. Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee has since banned multiple editors involved in coordinated misconduct in the Israel-Palestine topic area. None of this appears in the NYT's reporting. Omitting documented evidence of coordinated manipulation leaves readers with an incomplete picture of a serious problem that affects not only the Jewish community, but also the credibility and neutrality of one of the world's most frequently visited information sites. adl.org/resources/repo…
