Another great contribution shared at #easlcongress! Willem Pieter Brouwer presented: "METABOLIC DYSFUNCTION ASSOCIATED FIBROSIS-5 (MAF-5) SCORE ACCURATELY IDENTIFIES AT-RISK LIVER FIBROSIS AND PREDICTS PROGNOSIS IN A POPULATION-BASED SETTING" Aims of this study: "To design a non-invasive test to predict (metabolic dysfunction associated) significant fibrosis in a population-based setting". Conclusions: • "The MAF-5 is a validated, age-independent, inexpensive referral tool to identify patients at high risk of liver fibrosis in the primary care setting • It outperformed other NITs in the primary care setting especially in the younger and older populations and had a stable performance across (heterogeneous) populations • It was significantly associated with biopsy-proven fibrosis severity in NAFLD/NASH patients • MAF-5 was significantly associated with all-cause mortality • The MAF-5 score may therefore be a good alternative" Laurens van Kleef, @FrancqueSven, Harry Janssen, Willem Pieter Brouwer et al.
