We got a real taste of Irish culture tonight thanks to John from Collette and Altair Travel & Cruises —and man, this was something special.
We went to see the The Irish House Party , an award-winning group of musicians keeping a beautiful old tradition alive.
This kind of night goes all the way back to big family gatherings—where everyone had to bring something to the table. A song, a story, a dance, a poem… maybe just a good excuse to grab another drink.
And that’s exactly what this felt like. Music, comedy, storytelling, dancing—all woven together in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of it, not just watching it.
One of the highlights? The fiddle player casually puts down the bow… picks up a broom… and does something you absolutely need to see to believe.
Stick around to the end so you understand why this guy might have the cleanest house in all of Dublin.
Just having an incredible time with KSHE 95 - Real Rock Radio listeners—great music & food, great people, a little education mixed in with a lot of laughs.
And credit where it’s due—Altair and Colette really know how to do this right.
Every minute feels intentional, like you’re getting the most out of being somewhere new.
Travel isn’t always easy—and let’s be honest, in 2026 we’re all a little rushed off our feet most of the time.
But getting out into the world is honestly one of the best things you can do for it.
Putting yourself in a place where you’re the stranger in a strange land… the fish out of water… learning new customs, hearing new accents, trying new food, fitting yourself into other people’s worlds—and realizing life doesn’t begin and end with what we already know.
It breaks down walls. Takes away differences. Builds understanding.
And as you can see… it’s a pretty great time too.

"THE Chelsea Flower Show HAS OFFICIALLY LIFTED ITS BAN ON GARDEN GNOMES!!!"
That's the headline.
I’m watching this breaking story on national morning news TV in Dublin.
An update about the reinstatement of tiny ceramic gentlemen back into society.
We could use a little more gnome-level news in our lives.

If you’re listening to the show on KSHE right now… you’ve probably figured out I’m not in the studio.
I’m heading to Lambert—coffee in one hand, passport in the other—meeting up with a whole crew of KSHE listeners… and we’re off to Ireland.
And yeah… it still feels a little surreal saying that out loud.
Originally, the plan—the safe, sensible, “nobody panic, HR-approved” plan—was to roll out a bunch of Best Of shows while I was gone.
Let past me pretend to be current me… while current me tries to figure out international adapters, voltage, watts, foreign currency…
…how many hoodies is too many hoodies…
…and how many times it’s acceptable to turn your underwear inside out instead of putting on a fresh pair.
That was a trick. The answer is none. None times.
But then I thought… why not take you with me?
Why not do the AD Show on KSHE… in Ireland?
Because if you’re like me, this kind of trip is once-in-a-lifetime stuff. I’ve been before—but never like this… with a group of listeners, sharing the whole experience together.
And the only thing I didn’t like about it… was not being able to take ALL of you.
Then it hit me—maybe I can.
So instead of disappearing, we’re doing the opposite.
I’ll be checking in from the road as we go from St. Louis to Dublin and beyond—bringing Ireland to you, no passport required.
We’re talking Dublin… the Cliffs of Moher… the Ring of Kerry… kissing the Blarney Stone (yes, I will risk it for the gift of gab… although legally I think I already have that)… a whiskey distillery or two… and even a night in a medieval castle—which is a big upgrade from my usual “fall asleep on the couch with the TV on” lifestyle.
Also… I will absolutely be butchering every Irish place name along the way. That part is free.
And yes… there will be Guinness. At the source. We’ll test if it tastes better…
strictly for science, hydration, and cultural appreciation.
Follow along @ADSXE for the ride.
St. Louis… KSHE is going global.
The AD Show on tour. First stop: Ireland. 🇮🇪✈️

@DanielS35937436 Hahaha the hunt made it that much special when you finally figured it out!

@ADsXe i could have used this help 20 years ago trying to get the name of ELPs "From the Beginning" but my description kept getting replies of the similarly-intro'd "Roundabout" by YES. Took me months of listening to finally hear that ELP song and the DJ said the name.

@ADsXe Once the collective KSHE brains figure out the tune, I hope you play the whole thing on the air, perhaps as the Roundtreat.

Can you name this song?! 👇
Put your ideas in the comments!
Turn the sound on and see if you can figure it out.
Welcome to a day in the life of a hardworking local morning radio DJ. In my role at KSHE 95, people come to me with music questions all the time. But this time… they skipped me and went straight to the top.
A listener left a voicemail with my boss — and everybody’s boss — the market president, John Kijowski… who then forwarded it to me and said, “Can you help this guy out?”
So now I’m trying to be a dutiful employee and solve the earworm that’s now driving both of us a little crazy.
Take a listen… can you name that tune?
Drop your guesses in the comments. Once I see a few convincing answers, I’ll call the guy back and we’ll try to get to the bottom of this together.
And for anyone who just stumbled across this post and doesn’t listen regularly — KSHE 95 is a classic rock station (the first rock station in America… probably the world). So that narrows the genre a little.
Meaning if it played on KSHE… it’s definitely not Barry Manilow or Britney Spears or whatever it is you crazy kids are listening to these days.
Alright, internet detectives… name that tune.

Have you ever thought about this?
We have fingertips… but not toetips.
And yet we can tiptoe… but we can’t tipfinger.
Explain that, English.
Also, “tipfinger” sounds like a very weird category on certain adult entertainment websites. I’m not looking that up ... and if you do, maybe don’t do it on a work computer.
