The car was parked in a parking structure, completely shaded. When the children got out, you notice that they were not suffering. The car’s interior temperature could not have gotten over 90°, which is a livable temperature. The official was talking at a high rate of speed and jabbering to the point where she could scramble your brains, and cause one to lose train of thought. The reason the woman should not have left her kids in the car unattended is that in today’s world any number of horrible things could’ve happened to them by evil people coming across the unattended cars. 30 years ago it was not uncommon to see children left in a car with the windows down a little bit and in the shade. I t was also not uncommon to see a baby in a stroller parked outside a restaurant where women having lunch luncheon could see it through the window. That world no longer exists. The actual danger to her kids was evil people coming upon them; stealing them for trafficking, etc.

The police were called about two vehicles with kids left inside, unattended, when it was 86 degrees outside, 6 total. One woman showed up, but it’s unclear who the other driver was. She insisted nothing was wrong and that the police were overreacting. She became combative and refused to provide her information. In the end, both women were charged with child endangerment. Why do people do this? I could never leave my animal or my child in a car like that.
