@JBradshaw01 This is in response to problems many Wonderland style places have been having. The policy was tried last year. I think the better question to ask is, "why has behaviour of youth changed so much?" In the 80s and 90s we all want at 11 or 12 with friends and had no problems.

Canada’s Wonderland’s newly permanent chaperone policy now requires anyone aged 15 or younger attending the park after 4pm to have an adult (21 or older) chaperone. Do you agree or disagree with this policy?

WOW: The province of Quebec has decided to CRACK DOWN on Muslim rights, banning people from praying in public or in Universities. How do you feel about this?

When did teacher’s attire take a turn? Teachers today dress like they are all teaching PE. Growing up all my teachers wore heels, dresses, slacks, dress shirts, hair was done. They looked put together. Teachers today look like they don’t care. the way you show up contributes to the environment you work in. this may be one of the factors into why kids behave the way they do. take the profession seriously so the kids can take you seriously

@sage_stage Attendance is not a teacher problem. It's parenting. Admin should deal with it.

Who gets in the most trouble? The student who constantly skips class and school? The parent who raised the child who constantly skips class or school? Or the teacher who does not personally call the parent every time and document it in two different ways when the child skips?

@TolentinoTeach I think it more like the parents and admins have changed. Kids will just take it a far as you let them. But you're right it's different

If you haven’t taught in a classroom post-Covid, you don’t know what it is like to teach the modern student. The students have changed. Teaching has changed. You have to be in the classroom daily to understand what I mean.

@siomoCTV “Parents say they need five different passwords in three different systems to get to the report,” I checked with friends who have children in 3 different GTA boards between them. They all say that this isn’t accurate…

This topic is roaring through social media outlets. “Should pork be removed from school menus to respect Muslim students?” Hard to believe but so many people are saying “yes”. What about the rights of the indigenous non-Muslim population?

@MikeJToronto Georgia got 40cm. They elected to go regional since staff drive in from Peel and Durham also got bad. I would be interested in discussing a reduced school day. Like nice start time to 10 am. It's often fine by then.

Snow storm effectively stopped late Sunday afternoon in Richmond Hill, Vaughan. Roads are cleared. I guess schools are closed today because school property couldn't be cleared on time? Too bad we didn't have a better system. #onted #ycdsb #yrdsb

@CP24 There's no magic bullet in education, especially since every classroom is diverse. Pure inquire based learning isn't going to be effective for every student and neither is pure direct instruction. That being said, all strategies are improved by smaller class sizes.

Crazy Vibes
Crazy Vibes@CrazyVibes_1·
I’m two months away from my wedding, and my entire bridal party has started “gently suggesting” that I find something more classic. My mother-in-law even offered to buy me a “proper” white gown from a bridal shop. But when I put on this dress — the one covered in colorful embroidery and tiny stitched birds — I feel something I’ve never felt in my life: like me. It’s not traditional. It’s not what people expect. But when I see myself in the mirror, I see my grandmother’s garden — the one she tended in her small village before she immigrated. I see the stories she told me about celebrations where women wore color like pride, where every stitch meant something, where love was celebrated in shades of red and gold and blue. When I wear this dress, I feel her hands guiding mine. I feel roots, history, and belonging. Still, part of me hesitates. I know there will be whispers. Some people will call it “too different.” Others will think I’m being stubborn. But isn’t a wedding dress supposed to make you feel like the truest version of yourself? Isn’t that what love is — choosing what feels right in your heart, even when others don’t understand? Maybe peace isn’t about pleasing everyone. Maybe peace is wearing the dress that makes your heart sing.

Here's a real simple shift for schools to make: If a student can't read by the end of 2nd grade, they don't go to 3rd grade. If a student turns in no homework for the entirety of 9th grade, they don't go to tenth grade If a senior is chronically absent, they don't graduate
