Earlier today, I accepted the resignation of Stan Cho from Cabinet, effective immediately. He has acknowledged and taken responsibility for his mistake. He will continue to serve the people of Willowdale as their Member of Provincial Parliament. I also want to acknowledge Neil Lumsden’s announcement that he will be retiring from Cabinet and the provincial legislature effective August 4. Neil has been a dedicated public servant with a storied career during his time in the CFL, as a minister and as the MPP for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek. In particular, I want to thank Neil for his work supporting Toronto’s successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup. Ontario is lucky to have benefited from his leadership. I wish Neil and his family all the very best in his retirement. Attorney General Doug Downey will be taking on these additional Cabinet responsibilities on an interim basis.

NEW - Cho was the third highest spender for hotel expenses among GTA PC MPP's. When asked today what should happen to the others, the Premier would only say that its "Unacceptable" Hardeep Grewal - $29k Nina Tangri - $19k Stan Cho - $16k Charmaine Williams - $15k

NEW - The Ford government is moving to eliminate the “special circumstance expense” which Minister Stan Cho and other Toronto area government MPP’s have been using to expense Toronto hotels. The House Leader writing to the speaker about it.

$100,000+ for Toronto area @fordnation MPPs to stay in Toronto hotels, but no money for Ontario kids and workers to stay cool at daycare? Hey, whatever happened to @PaulCalandra’s promise to provide funds to help make childcare centres safer? #ForWhichPeople #onpoli

Quite shameful that they have to remove a rule instead of simply having honest politicians who really care about Ontarians instead of enriching themselves.
