TUPELO, Miss. — Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) brought the SAVE America Act to the floor last week, more than a month after the bill was approved by the House and amid rising tension to pass the legislation. Democrats in the Senate rejected a proposed amendment that would have restricted federally-funded educational institutions from permitting biological males to participate in women’s sports. Advanced by Senators Tuberville (R-Ala.) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), 49 Republicans voted in favor of the provision, while 41 Democrats voted against it, leaving support for the amendment below the 60-vote threshold to advance.
The topic of allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports has been a hot-button issue among voters, receiving support across party lines. Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, points to the democratic party’s denial of God’s order for the nation in failing to protect the integrity of women’s athletics.

The MS Big Bankers Association is claiming MS local banks oppose Fair Banking legislation (SB 2714). Call your local community bank and ask them:
Do you support Fair Banking protections?
Do you agree Christians and gun owners deserve access to Fair Banking?
Will you pledge to support AFA's efforts to pass legislation to protect churches and small businesses from being debanked?

Every year, thousands of children in foster care qualify for federal benefits: earned through the work of their deceased parents or through their own disability. In MS and other states, these benefits are confiscated by child welfare agencies, rather than being used on behalf of the kids. Thanks to our state lawmakers, this unjust "orphan tax" will no longer apply in Mississippi. After learning from the Trump administration that the state's foster care system is taking money from vulnerable children, the Mississippi Legislature sprang into action. Working with Dr. Jameson Taylor, Senator Lane Taylor, @KevinBlackwell5, and @LeeYanceyMS ended the "orphan tax" on foster care kids. Lee Watson with Frontline Families also worked with foster care families to educate and activate. In honor of MS passing this reform, @ACF_Adams, Assistant Secretary with the Administration for Children and Families, celebrated with lawmakers at the Capitol. Thank you, also, to @otislanthony , @CelesteHurst_75, and @SenDavidBlount for their help in passing this important bill.

American citizens pay taxes or face consequences. Yet, some non-citizens exploit welfare systems. The contrast is stark: one group faces swift action, the other, legal hurdles. This isn't right. #Taxation #Immigration #Fairness

Thank you Mississippi Treasurer David McRae for standing up for Fair Banking protections for Christians and others. AFA was again debanked. … in spite of Trump’s recent executive order telling the banks to stop discriminating against Christians, gun owners and energy companies. States must pass Fair Banking legislation, like that supported by Treasurer McRae. Mississippi has an opportunity to lead on this issue.
