FIRST LADY MELANIA TRUMP’S FOSTERING THE FUTURE // ACTION FOCUSED LEADERSHIP   First Lady Melania Trump (@flotus) has prioritized the well-being of children in foster care, establishing herself as the most consequential leader for this community.   In fact, the First Lady’s Fostering the Future agenda has brought foster care to the forefront of our national discussion.   HHS's "A Home for Every Child" initiative demonstrates Mrs. Trump’s commitment by inspiring more foster families, strengthening caregiver support, and providing more children with safe, stable, and loving homes. spectrumlocalnews.com/us/snplus/news…

ICYMI: ACF TANF issue brief exposing the massive gap between perception and reality on work requirements. Only 8% of TANF families had someone working enough hours to count in FY2024. States are gaming the system with loopholes, token payments, and ghost credits. Credit to @ACF_Adams and his team at ACF for shining a light on this and pushing for real accountability. Time to close these loopholes, strengthen work requirements, and get more able-bodied adults into jobs instead of endless dependency. acf.gov/system/files/f…

All 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico have pledged to increase the number of licensed foster homes in a unified effort under the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, according to an announcement Thursday. “All 50 states joining this initiative sends a powerful message: America is ready to rally around children in foster care and the families who step forward for them,” ACF Assistant Secretary Alex J. Adams said in a statement. The agency launched A Home for Every Child in November to “strengthen families, prioritize prevention and recruit and retain qualified foster families,” following President Donald Trump’s Fostering the Future executive order, according to an ACF news release. @ACFHHS Read full story: bit.ly/4fac4Ky

Thanks to the leadership of @FLOTUS Melania Trump and @ACF_Adams, all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico have joined @ACFHHS A Home for Every Child initiative. Today, America has just 57 licensed foster homes for every 100 children in foster care. Our mission is simple: ensure every child in foster care has a safe, stable, and loving home. Together, we're making that vision a reality—one child, one family, and one community at a time.

Check out @ACFHHS new guidance on improving child welfare IT, namely: Regulations are intended to prevent unnecessary duplicative investments, not to discourage responsible modernization that results in meaningful improvements for children, families, and the child welfare workforce.
ACF@ACFHHS

An effective child welfare system requires modern technology that supports timely decision-making, reduces administrative burden & helps agencies improve. American children & families & the professionals who serve them deserve it. ACF supports this work: bit.ly/3QOsLmT
