When markets are competitive, they generate lower costs for consumers, spur innovation, and drive improvements in product quality that benefit everyone, especially the consumer. By promoting greater price transparency in prescription drugs, this settlement will make our healthcare markets more competitive, and more affordable, for every American.

To settle allegations of anticompetitive and unfair conduct, Caremark, which serves as CVS Health’s pharmacy benefit managers, has agreed to provide prescription drugs to consumers based on post-rebate prices rather than the full list price. They have also agreed to cap patient costs for insulin at no more than $25 for a month’s supply, provide reasonable reimbursement rates to our important community pharmacies, and permit pharmacies to work with digital pharmacy services to improve drug affordability and adherence. ftc.gov/news-events/ne…

Lowering healthcare costs has been a top priority of President Trump since day one. Today, the @FTC delivers on that priority by imposing important reforms on pharmacy benefit managers that will put money back in the pockets of ordinary Americans to the tune of billions of dollars in savings for ordinary Americans.

Two years ago, our country witnessed an unspeakable act of violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. Being at the hospital in the aftermath of the attempted assassination of President Trump is a day I will never forget. Through it all, President Trump wasn’t focused on himself. He wanted to make sure everyone else was okay. I was with two dear friends that - Dan Scavino and Steven Cheung and must admit I had a few minutes of being in shock and even a little weepy. I’m grateful to God for His protection over the President and the team. But the cost of that day was nevertheless greater than many realize and we will continue to pray for the families impacted. We will not forget the day in Butler.

President Trump has said since his election that he supports Little Tech. I’m glad that our small innovators now have a voice in Washington to compete with the Big Business lobby at the Chamber and NetChoice.

Today’s settlement is a big win for competition and innovation in healthcare. It is also a warning. Companies that try to sneak deals past the FTC will not escape our notice and they will be held accountable.

In our complaint, we allege that Edwards and Genesis attempted to bypass FTC review of Edwards’s acquisition of Genesis’s JC Medical. They did so by agreeing to an “official” price tag for the acquisition that fell below the threshold for FTC review while also agreeing to make additional “side” payments to Genesis in excess of that threshold. ftc.gov/news-events/ne…

Cheating is wrong. Congress requires merging companies to file with the FTC before they merge, so that we can make sure the deal won’t hurt American consumers. That system doesn’t work if companies play games to avoid filing with the FTC. The FTC caught Edwards Lifesciences and Genesis MedTech doing just that. Today, we have secured a $12 million settlement —the largest ever penalty in this kind of case — to resolve claims over that allegedly unlawful conduct.

I am off-camera in the anteroom here, but @mrddmia had brought me on to work for Chairman Grassley on Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation. By the end of Senator Graham’s speech, I was ready to run through a wall. And I had no doubt we were gonna win. This confirmation was my formative experience in politics, and Senator Graham’s speech was the most important moment. I worked for then-Chairman Graham in the next Congress. He was a loyal and patriotic Republican who consistently rose to the occasion, as his 2018 speech showed. He was our most aggressive judiciary chairman in overcoming Dem confirmation obstruction. And even on issues where he and I disagreed, I had no doubt he always wanted what was best for America. May his soul, through the mercy of God and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin and all the Saints, find eternal rest and perpetual light.

WPATH was so desperate to avoid facing justice in Texas they tried to melt down our entire court system. But Judge Boasberg’s decision has cleared the way. WPATH will answer for its conduct in the state of its incorporation.

From its very inception, our nation and citizens have been committed to the livelihood of those who till America’s soil. By securing the right of farmers to repair their own equipment, the FTC has honored that commitment, reducing costs for our farmers and the hundreds of millions of American citizens who depend on them.

For years, John Deere made it almost impossible for American farmers to repair their own equipment. The company’s conduct led to increased costs for farmers and our nation’s consumers while lining John Deere’s pockets. Today, the @FTC under President Trump put an end to it.

Businesses must be honest with their customers. When AI companies steer AI outputs to serve a political agenda and conceal this fact from customers, they may be breaking the law. If an AI system is designed to suppress accuracy in favor of politics, or anything else, consumers have a right to know. ftc.gov/news-events/ne…
