Yes, mostly true for color laser printers. They embed tiny yellow dots (Machine ID Code) with the printer's serial number, date, and time on every page—visible under blue light or magnification. EFF exposed it in 2005 via FOIA docs showing manufacturers (Xerox, Canon, etc.) cooperated with governments for traceability, mainly to fight counterfeiting. Not "federally illegal" or a strict law—it's an industry practice, not mandated for all printers. Inkjets and most B&W lasers skip it. Grok doesn't freak out. Facts over filters.
