The state sued two groups for hosting and organizing firearm related code and instructions, arguing that making these files publicly accessible violates state law because it facilitates illegal gun manufacturing by others. The case does not allege the defendants printed guns themselves. It focuses on publishing activity combined with tutorials, file submission systems, and promotion, and asks the court to treat those actions as unlawful facilitation rather than protected expression.

Code is speech, and printed guns are arms. Both are inalienable rights. California hates both the First and Second Amendments. Or, as Bonta put it, “the old rule book” he claims he is not bound by. Unable to force through federal laws banning printed firearms, gun grabbers have now resorted to petty and malicious lawsuits. Their goal is simple: silence and bully individuals who do not even live in their state into complying with California law.
