I was hanging around here before it was cool (also a bit after it was initially cool, basically in that uncool gap): bsky.app/profile/adamdr…

The real loser so far this election is Bluesky. My timeline there is empty.

So - do you have to be white to be British? We have asked in the past.... answer is NO. Also clear that overt racists are a very small part of British society

@gabrielmilland Although I'd also add a hefty error margin to those figures given that I had to read the question text back slowly

4. Parties and campaigns can read public polling as well and so the private work often plugs gaps in that. E.g. for a mayoral election we knew that there would be public polls coming out once a month so our private ones went in those gaps for more regular data

3. Asking different questions: public polls ask voting intent, leader approval etc. and topical stuff, but campaigns need other, more practical questions like have people heard this or that message (from your client or others), which version of this strapline lands best etc.

This was interesting so my few bits to add to it: 1. Central point is totally correct, private polling doesn't use some secret sauce that isn't available to public polling, in both cases the incentive is to be as accurate as possible so you do the best you can

@CWP_Weir "Harris is taking back a significant number of the double-haters that were supporting you Bobby, we need to shake up the race" "Wait, I've got it"

Just wanted to share quickly how lovely yesterday felt in Southport; a total contrast to the night before. 🧵 The mosque and people’s garden walls were rebuilt by builders and bricklayers volunteering their time and labour:

OK, so those arguing it means a UK holiday. Lets take a real example, I just spent a week in Scotland on holiday, I live in London 400 miles away, just don't see how that can possibly be classed as "Staycation"

Probably would've been good to specify that this is referring to one specific case
