Cycle path, bollards, traffic islands, signs, lamp posts, speed cameras, pedestrians, runners, dog walkers, petrol station, blackthorn, maple, ash, rain, wind. This stretch of hedge always feels like the Krypton Factor Assault Course of hedge cutting and I hate it.

I don’t remember seeing so many berries still on our hedgerows at this time of the year. Has something thinned the bird life out? Or just a less harsh winter?

@Global_Mil_Info I live very close to fairford. This goes on all the time. Don’t even batter an eye lid to what comes and goes. Has been going on since the golf war.

@gamstonlad @FarRightSkip I doubt it as the FIDO bases were very specialised to divert aircraft to. However, I’ve always thought Gamston sits in a bit of a fog trap compared to the surrounding area so maybe they had a similar idea on a smaller scale to deal with a localised problem?

@FarRightSkip We pull up pipe around the runways, my grandad used to say they had a fog clearing system, whether it was in experimental stage I’m not sure as I don’t think Gamston is down as having FIDO installed from what I’ve seen previously. @AGRI_VATOR will know better.

I've been reading about FIDO. A system used to help our bombers land in the fog during WWII. Fog investigation and dispersal operation. It burned 70,000 gallons of petrol an hour!

Last load of maize tipped and I get a flat tyre on the road home. Got lucky with a lay-by but luck ran out when tyre dropped off the bead. Torque multipliers are bloody marvellous things!

Got a letter to @bloomfieldsqr that says due to increased banking costs the rates are going to have to go up for card transactions. What increased costs? They've shut our branches, laid the staff off & service has dived. The increased costs must be for yachts or sommat. Use cash!
