@pschofie79 Totally different region of the country, but want to amplify the work of @mobileloaves -- they support the homeless community in an intentional, compassionate, and positive way, leading to changed lives and a true sense of community. Wish we had more orgs like them!

I’m in Portland, OR. They’ve got this homeless encampment that’s sanctioned by the city. These things are nicer than tents and the whole thing is cleaner and safer than other encampments. But it also manages to be sad and disturbing in its own way. . .

@EdwardDaniels Agree we should be concerned with the humanity of this issue -- but just because you, personally, haven't seen the problems does not mean they aren't occurring. I've seen them. I am not concerned about my home resale value, but I am concerned about my safety.
