This is why the US govt is $39 trillion in debt and has a $2 trillion budget deficit. The people running these projects have no incentive to limit spending. The Department of War had a now-terminated contract with Oracle that ran hundreds of millions of dollars over budget and lasted several years longer than it should have. The original contract was for $39 million to install an off the shelf HR system. It ended up costing $280 million and then was cancelled. It is ridiculous govt spending like this that drives people crazy. This is just one example of thousands of such projects in the US govt. washingtonexaminer.com/policy/defense…
