@kosienm Hi #2ndchat! Interested to talk about this topic tonight! I can only stay for about 20 minutes, but I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can during that time.

A7: What do our SPED students need as we create a new sense of "normal"/return to in-person class? #2ndchat

@AHrechko @UNICEFKidPower @mariadismondy Oh, it is! It's a dad that does step by step art that you and your ss can follow along with. I always start w/pencil, and then go back w/sharpie. You can find them either on YouTube, or artforkidshub.com. I also found that my ss like when I give them my drawing at the end!

A3: Really trying to do morning meetings (but not just in the morning!) We also do brain breaks using @UNICEFKidPower and we do Art Hub. Also trying to infuse SEL with the books we read and project we do. (Books by @mariadismondy are great for this) #2ndchat

It's time for #2ndchat! Tonight we're talking SEL...so message a friend (or 2), invite them along, ...and let's grow together. Be sure to add #2ndchat to your reply!

@kosienm This is a very important topic to bring up. Many do and many do not. Educating them about SEL will help them to identify this. #2ndchat

@kosienm A7. We still need to ask how we can truly help best support each individual student during this particular time, and throughout the future. This requires lots of open-mindedness and patience. #2ndchat

@MrAwesomeMullen Absolutely! We need communication between school personnel, students, and families so we can all begin to lean on each other for support. #2ndchat

A6: Communication is key-they need us to support them and remember most have not had their ss in school for over a year #2ndchat

A5: Tough Q! I think it is super important for T's to feel supported & heard by their district. T's should not be made to feel bad for advocating for their ss. Someone mentioned testing/data. It would be nice to do less testing, or at least give T's devices to test on. #2ndchat
