@oquidave is live breaking down Voice Agents and how to plug @Africastalking Voice APIs directly into your AI Agent stack. But it goes deeper than the tech. He's calling out a real opportunity: African voices are underrepresented in AI. The chance to build, train, and own that space is RIGHT NOW. Don't sleep on it. #VoiceAI #AIAgents #AfricasTalking #Hackathon #WeLoveNerds #BuildWithAT

𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐬. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫. At AI Studio Uganda, we believe in the power of artificial intelligence as a tool for empowerment not replacement. Recently, we sat down with Marylynn Alaba, a medical student at Uganda Christian University, A Centre of Excellence in the Heart of Africa School of Medicine, to understand how she integrates AI into her rigorous studies. Her insights were striking. Marylyn has been using AI since her first year (2023). 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐭? ChatGPT, Copilot, and Notebook LM. Her goal? Efficiency without compromise. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭: 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐈 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞. Instead of hunting through dozens of sources manually, she gathers summarized, referenced information from reliable sources all in one place. 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬. Flashcards, case scenarios, and practice questions are generated instantly, giving her more time to focus on understanding. 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲. Marylyn emphasized a critical lesson: 𝑨𝑰 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒕𝒐𝒐𝒍, 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒕𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆. Theory from AI must be paired with hands-on fieldwork. That balance, she says, is what true learning requires. As a sovereign Ugandan company, AI Studio Uganda is committed to showcasing how our people especially our students can leverage AI to compete globally while staying grounded in the values of hard work and authentic experience. Marylyn's story is a powerful example of what happens when innovation meets discipline. 🎥 Watch the full conversation in the video below. 👇 How are you using AI in your field? Let’s discuss. #AIStudioUganda #SovereignAI #MedicalEducation #AIForGood #EdTech #FutureOfLearning #Uganda #NSSFCareerExpo2026 #NotebookLM #MedStudentLife youtu.be/8Mf_VW1M1jY

Yesterday, Victoria University brought the energy, the questions, and the hunger. Today, we bring the "Man or Machine" dialogue to Mukono as the NSSF Career Expo rolls into @UCUniversity. Whether AI excites you, scares you, or both, this is the room you need to be in. The students have come ready to challenge, be challenged, and walk away with clarity on what the future of work means for them.

At the @nssfug Career Expo @VUKampala , Dr. Shamim K. sparked a powerful conversation around AI and the future of work and the questions from students said it all. Not "𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑨𝑰 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒋𝒐𝒃𝒔?" but "𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐 𝑰 𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝑨𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒚 𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚?" and "𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝑰 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆?" That's the generation we're building for at AI Studio Uganda one that is not just tech-aware, but ethically conscious. Because AI can generate answers. Character determines how those answers are used. Thank you Dr. Shamim K. for leading that conversation.

At a recent engagement at @VUKampala, our COO @1lamerckkavuma reminded the audience that access to tools is no longer the barrier it once was. What matters now is creativity and intention. He walked the room through our o𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 designed to generate high-quality outputs straight from a phone, without internet. For young Ugandans stepping into an AI-shaped workforce, the message was simple: 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔. #FutureOfWork #ArtificialIntelligence #Leadership #EthicalAI #HigherEducation #CareerDevelopment #VictoriaUniversity #Innovation #NSSFCareerExpo2026

Roland Ganafa, Founder of @aistudiouganda , urged students to stop chasing outdated opportunities in a rapidly evolving world and instead equip themselves for roles that are still taking shape. Drawing from his own journey from development studies to tech entrepreneurship, he emphasised that entirely new opportunities are emerging. Young Ugandans are well-positioned to build, innovate, and lead in this new landscape.

Lameck Kavuma, COO of @aistudiouganda, delivered a compelling presentation, stressing that access to tools is no longer the differentiator; what matters is how creatively and effectively they are used. He showcased their offline AI solution, which enables users, even in the most remote areas without internet access, to generate high-quality outputs directly from their phones. The tools are within reach. The knowledge is accessible. And the opportunity is real, particularly for young Ugandans stepping into a workforce that AI is actively reshaping.

Hook; Someone used AI to manipulate a Ugandan creator's photos. Dressed her indecently. Altered her body. Used her face to scam people. She had no way to stop it. This is Janice's story. Her identity; @Janice_Kem is a digital creator and influencer born and raised in Uganda. She built her brand carefully. Intentionally. Over time. Then AI was weaponized against everything she built. What happened; Someone took her photos from her public pages. Used tools like Grok to manipulate them changing how she was dressed, altering her body shape. Then created fake impersonation pages using her face to scam people for money. The damage; "I cried a few times. The pictures really circulated online." Her family saw them. Her audience saw them. And there was no way to explain to people that it wasn't her. The feeling; "I've built my brand a certain way and I felt like I was in conflict." That's the part that gets overlooked. Deepfake harm isn't just reputational. It's deeply personal. Her message to tech builders; Janice's message wasn't bitterness. It was a challenge: "You could start up an app. Look into the gaps. Bridge them. Make money off it." "The internet came and it's not going anywhere you either hop on the train or it leaves you." The call; AI is powerful. That's exactly why misuse hits so hard. If you're building with AI build like someone you love could be on the receiving end. Because for Janice, someone already was. @nssfug @AbsaUganda @FenonRecords @pepsi @Makerere @OfficialMubs @kyambogou @VUKampala @UCUniversity @ganafaR @1lamerckkavuma #AIResponsibility #DeepfakeAwareness #nssfcareerexpo2026 #AIStudioUganda #DigitalSafety #WomenInTech #ContentCreators #TechForGood At @AIStudioUganda, this is why we build the way we do. Meet Vian Kamanzi a student of International Business at @OfficialMubs Vian is building an AI-powered tool designed to help thousands of university students collaborate more effectively. And he's doing it right now as a student. This is exactly what AI Studio Uganda was built for. Not AI for AI's sake. But putting the power of building into the hands of students, problem-solvers, and everyday people who don't yet know they're builders. The next generation of African innovators isn't waiting for permission. They're already building. 🇺🇬 youtu.be/xutsY0mvZf0 @nssfug @ACCA_Uganda @Absa @ganafaR @1lamerckkavuma

🎙️ 𝐃𝐚𝐲 3 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩 | 𝐊𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐠𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨 2026 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: "𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞?" We brought the conversation to @kyambogou and the room didn't disappoint. Here's what our incredible speakers had to say about AI, careers, and staying human in a machine-driven world: Patricia Nshemereirwe Chief Operating Officer @AbsaUganda reminded us that while LLMs are now widely accessible, they don't replace human judgment, insight, and integrity. Using the financial services sector as a lens, she noted that organisations are sitting on goldmines of data they rarely fully utilise and that the real skill is transforming that data into meaningful value. 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: build solutions that go beyond local boundaries and create impact at scale. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐣𝐨𝐧𝐠 broke down the honest contrast between humans and machines. Machines win on consistency, repetition, and endurance they never tire. Humans? We struggle with repetition. But where we shine is creativity. He acknowledged that generative AI can produce impressive outputs when trained on strong data yet it remains dependent on what it's been fed. The human edge is still very real. @1lamerckkavuma, our very own COO at AI Studio Uganda, challenged the room on a critical blind spot: access to AI tools doesn't equal quality outcomes. Many people are building with AI right now, but the outputs often lack real-world value sometimes the interfaces are barely functional. His point was sharp: domain expertise and knowing what should and shouldn't go into a solution is a skill no AI can fully replace. Don't outsource your judgment. 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐰𝐚, BBA Accounting student at Kyambogo University, brought a refreshing student perspective: "I don't see AI as a threat; I see it as an opportunity. And beyond that, it's a powerful reminder that the real skill we need today is the ability to adapt quickly." 🔥 Mark Brian Semakula, MCIM | Director, Moving Ads Uganda, gave perhaps the most timeless answer to the skills question: Storytelling. Every major religion in the world is built on a story. The ability to capture and communicate meaning is one of the oldest and most enduring human capabilities and one that AI hasn't come close to replacing. If you want to future-proof yourself, learn to tell a story. The theme "𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞?" wasn't really a competition it was a call to clarity. Know what machines do well. Know what you do better. And build accordingly. Thank you to Kyambogo University for hosting us, and to every student and professional who showed up with curiosity and ambition. 🙌 The future belongs to those who combine human depth with technological capability. #AIStudioUganda | #CareerExpo2026 | #KyambogoUniversity | #ManOrMachine |#AIinAfrica | #FutureOfWork Absa Bank Uganda National Social Security Fund
