Had a conversation with an entrepreneur in the AI space this morning. He was at Meta in the Data/AI team. He wanted to build an AI startup. He was on H1B visa. The new company (with a cofounder) sponsored his L1 Visa - which is a higher type of visa with better approval rates, but also is reserved for "executive and senior management". He went to India to setup the team for 5 months, built the infrastructure and hired a local team lead. Applied and secured his L1 during that time frame. Now he's back in the US raising the seed round. They raised pre-seed earlier. What do you think? Is this a valid use of the visa? Or something else?
