@fiona_metcalfe @NeonatalSurgery @BAPS1953 @NNAUK1 @hannahsimmo We had a horrendous journey from Newcastle and arrived in London at 4am. Lady sat next to me is CCN (random) from Kent - I repeated my talk to her one to one . 😄

@ALeesurgeon @NeonatalSurgery @BAPS1953 @NNAUK1 @hannahsimmo Your talk was excellent, really interesting and informative. Gave us lots of food for thought. Not straight forward decisions on treatment. Thank you

"Best practice" doesn't work in most change situations in health & care. Best practice works in simple, stable scenarios but we are mostly working in complex systems. This means that yes, we can learn from the practices of others, but we have to:
1) Bring in a diversity of perspectives and experiences
2) Test out new practices experimentally
3) Create learning loops
4) Push authority down to the people who need to act on the information ("disintermediation") medium.com/topology-insig… By @jbriselli Graphic adapted from @TheCynefinCo

If we look at the most effective networks & communities of practice, we see they need time & leadership to develop & mature. They are built on strong foundations of connection, which creates the conditions for sharing to happen. They go through these early stages before they reach a level of maturity that enables them to really make a difference in the world. The health & fitness of a network or CoP needs to be nurtured & grown. @BeckyMalby @DrNaeemAhmed. Inspired by @simongterry
