@jkresse_fhs @franklinlorax I also have bigger rocks in my backyard by my basketball hoop. They really help the water flow around the hoop and the lawn to make sure water does not build up.

These rocks right here are a little bit bigger, which causes them to have a larger amount of porosity and permeability. However, since they’re larger, they have lower levels of water retention. @franklinlorax #apesland

This Christmas Cactus or Schlumbergera plant is a species normally found in Southeastern Brazil. Unlike normal species of cactus, it requires high levels of water and soil rich with humus and other nutrients to survive. @franklinlorax #apesland

Although at the moment it is under about a foot and a half of snow, one way that my family reduces our ecological footprint is through maintaining a small garden in our backyard. This helps reduce carbon emissions from food transportation. #apespop @franklinlorax

although my room is nothing near a rainforest, that’s where you can find bamboo, just like my plant. Bamboo is abundant in rainforest biomes across the globe, growing 40-80ft tall. #apeseco @franklinlorax
