Dist Grand Prefect

Gave the Chain an airing this morning, presenting a cheque for £7000 to Weldmar Hospicecare near Dorchester. I was accompanied by representatives from the 7 Lodges who nominated this Hospice. Not a bad way to spend the morning, more photos will follow. 😎

Trip to Derby today for District meeting of East Midlands AMD. Very enjoyable, meeting up with old friends after so long and I finally managed to pass on this beauty. The 'Dummy' is held by the newest District Grand Prefect and because of Covid I have had it for 18 long months!😎

Fridays meeting at Rufus Stone saw a new member come into the Southern Counties, two degrees St L & Kts of Con very well performed by the WM and his officers, a great meal and wonderful company. A great restart for AMD in the District the first of many I am sure. 😎

Busy morning baking two sponges for tomorrow's Llewellin Lodge garden party at the Worshipful Master's House, hopefully they will survive intact as they look very tasty, or maybe they would look better with a slice taken out. Hmmm decisions, decisions. 🤔😎🥮🍰

After yesterday, I follow on today with a visit to Rufus Stone Council at Brockenhurst, my first visit to an Allied Council in my District since I became the District Grand Prefect in February 2020! I hope they remember who I am! 🤔😎

Most enjoyable day at Hants & IOW Craft AGM yesterday, my first meeting for over a year and what a way to start off, congratulations to all involved and especially new PGM Jonathan, the future looks bright. 😎

Today we should have been in London for Grand Mark, congratulations to those Dorset Mark men who should have been there, reappointed to active rank Graham & Eddie, first appointments to PGStdBr, Andrew & David. Hopefully we will be able to make up for it in September. 👍😎

Big thanks to BKS leather for getting our next set of paramedics kitted out with some of the best protection available. Big thanks to the @MarkMasonsHall for providing the money to put a 2nd @DocBike_Dorset, fully kitted out on the roads! More to follow shortly!

Zoomed out this morning, first attended VBM of District of Kent AMD, well run meeting with all the technical bells & whistles. Quick change of tie and coffee top up, then VBM of Wessex Council RSMs which proved quite interesting for various reasons. 😎

District of Southern Counties AMD VBM this morning, well over 100 logged in including the Grand Master, the Dep Grand Master & Grand Sec. Accounts were approved and Officers re-appointed, lots of smiling faces and Grand Master on excellent form. Many thanks to all who attended.😎

Busy day, MBF Trustees meeting, first Covid jab and sorting paperwork for the District meeting of Southern Counties to be held on Saturday. Paperwork progressing well, final touches tomorrow then all set, 120 plus booked in including the Grand Master, so I had better get it right

Next Saturday is the annual meeting of Southern Counties AMD on Zoom. Such has been the interest that we have upgraded the Zoom platform so can now take all those who wish to attend. Email the District Secretary to receive log in details. Look forward to seeing you then. 👍😷😎

What strange times we live in, just had a text from surgery, phoned up and Covid jab booked for tomorrow afternoon, that quick and easy. The strange part is, it feels akin to a win on the lottery and all I want to do is share my good news with all that will listen. Keep safe.😷👍
